When is Jason Collier going to get PT? I'm getting impatient to see whether he is going to be an integral part of the team. He really needs to put on a hockey mask, sharpen an axe and get out there with a willingness to hew down the opposition. He has the size and the shot but where is the wherewithall? I'm rooting for the guy, but I am concerned now that he is healthy and still not playing. Cat, you probably will have some input on this.
I really doubt that Jason Collier is an intergral part of this team. I say this because he hardly gets PT, and the fact that when he does it either in a blowout, or the Rockets have a comfortable lead.
He certainly isn't now, but the question is: Can he -- and will he -- be an integral part? Does he truly have the tools and the desire?
Crash, I am confused by your answer and the tongue sticking out. Does that mean you are in favor of waiving Collier like the Griz did with Ike Austin?
No need to waive him. His contract expires after next season. WE choose not to pick up the fourth year... bye bye scrub.
Okay, okay. I'm dense. I don't know the movie so I am unable to ascertain the meaning of these answers.
Maybe I just have bad nerves, but I can't remember the last time we had a "comfortable" lead. In fact one of the games last week, with about three minutes to go Worell ( I think) described the rockets as "clinging to an eleven point lead". My sediments exactly. BTW, I am happy to see Collier get playing time. Last year, when he got minutes, he improved to at least mediocre. I like the way he sets picks, then goes back down low. I am not seeing a replacement for Cato, but for a 10th man, I think Collier can be a better than average.
I recognized the words from an old Peter Paul and Mary ballad, but I have not seen the movie. However, Collier has been missing in action, so I can see how that would fit into a "Brother, Where Art Thou?" response, especially considering my thread title.
Jason Collier is a big, lethargic, dopey white guy. He was the biggest waste of a draft pick I can remember. He'll be ready to retire by the time he sees any playing time.
Racism has no place on this board. That said, Collier is big. We don't know whether he is lethargic (unless you know he told Rudy that playing basketball is just too tiring), and he graduated from a major college so he can't be too dopey. How about you? I haven't seen any intellectual elitism in any of your posts.
So with Langhi and Collier, we have them around just because they have guaranteed contracts, otherwise we'd just release them?
I seriously think Langhi's gone, and probably Collier too. Unless we don't draft a project Center. Maybe even a European one. Otherwise, they're gone. But Collier will probably find some PT as a backup on another team. Ironically, Przybilla and Collier would make a good tandem at C.
Collier still looks like a SLUG to me: white, black, red or green He's had two years to train, get in shape, practice with the team and watch what it takes to be at least a serviceable NBA backup. It ain't happening. And don't give me: he's been injured for two years...that won't sell. Unless he performs some miraculous metamorphisis in an "NBA tough" player, he's gone. The only good thing that has come from drafting Collier is the draft pick that allowed us to get Griffin. Dallas Rocket
That's precisely what concerns me. As I said before, Collier has the size and the shot, but he hasn't proved himself. I'm still hoping Collier will break out of his current anonymity, but, if not, the Rockets need a capable replacement for him.
There must be some reason that Collier is not getting into the games. I mean, I've seen Rudy put Terrence Morris in to play center. In the center-deficient NBA, I don't understand why Collier can't get more PT.
I'm still not sold on Moochie being in the game over Eddie Griffin, unless Eddie's really worn out. Maybe Rudy think Collier's worn out from all those minutes in the Rocket blow outs.
