I see Krooked Kushner says it was just ~100 emails over 8 months. As if volume matters. If I was a corrupt government official, I would do most of my business on the official email too, and only do the crooked ones on private email.

Here is a life hack for Jared, free of charge: if you find it somehow inconvenient to log in to your government account to do email, go ahead and use your private email and cc your official one on what you send. That way, a record is still captured and there will be no (or at less of an) appearance of impropriety. And, since your private email might at some point get subpoenaed, only do crooked business by phone or, ideally (since your phones might be tapped), face-to-face. Just make sure your counterparty isn't wearing a wire.

Unless there was some classified information in the e-mails, it's not a story. Do we have any information on that?

So, after the bash on Clinton for the last 2 years.... someone is this stupid? Or is there something to hide.. must be something, right? Guilty!

But it's ok. If there are actual classified info, POTUS can retroactively de-classify them. I just made that up. Is that possible? Nay, doesn't matter.

So Hillary leaked classified information yet not word or hint of what these leaks are and whether the scope of the classified information was trivial or caused actual tangible damage.

But of course bobby the faux expert of everything is just certain it was damaging.

No one cares when there's no classified information being mishandled. Only Clinton was stupid enough to break those laws and think it wouldn't come back to haunt her.....but it's cool, she's got people like you blaming all of her mistakes on the Russians.

I don't care very much about classified information. I mean, if he leaks classified information, so much the worse. But the point of the government email is that government officials are conducting the people's business and they have an obligation to keep the records of that business so that the people can decide what is done with it. If we want to make it public or release under FOIA or classify as sensitive or whatever it is we choose -- we need to have the record of it to do anything. And chief among these concerns are public corruption and you can stymie corruption by forcing communications to be transparent and discoverable. So, in my view, any effort to circumvent the official system is at least an appearance of impropriety and not at all to be tolerated. I literally refused to vote for Clinton in the last election despite my fear of a Trump presidency, since realized, on this very issue -- that hiding communications looks corrupt. Now Kushner looks corrupt. Though honestly, that whole gang has looked corrupt for a long while now.

Well it's good that you aren't in a position of power if you don't care about classified information. While I agree that it's bad for people to go around FOIA by using private email, it's nowhere near as bad as mishandling classified information, which is why mishandling classified information is so very illegal and anyone not named Clinton would have been in serious legal trouble for it.

As to this instance, if he really did CC everything to his official email account, you'll still have the records and it's no big deal. Either way, I assume the Trump administration is corrupt just as you do.

Ah, that tired old dead horse. I don't think anyone around here is blaming Hillary's epicly bad and tone-deaf campaign on Russians.

I, and most other Americans who give a **** about our country, are blaming the Russians exactly for what they did: meddling in our affairs and trying to compromise the working of our democracy. That's a much, much, much bigger deal. And there may be more. The other thing most Americans who love their country are doing: waiting for Mueller to complete his investigation to see what else crooks and foreign governments may have been up to.

But do keep beating that dead Hillary horse. Just wear some eye protection, because the necrotic tissue is starting to splatter on you.

You say that, but it seems like every single day we have people here posting about how the Russians won Trump the election.....that's very much blaming Hillary's hilariously bad candidacy on the Russians.

It's wise of you to concede defeat that quickly, you knew you had nothing before the conversation began.

    he's sure is hiding something

he can't be that stupid right? I mean, we just witness an unprecedented amount of ignorance and anger generated from the masses spinning their head over private email... and yet here we are again... got to be guilty ! so plain and so clear...

but for those level headed, at least an investigation is in order now. Precedent and all.

You mean there can be more than one reason why someone loses an election!?!?

    What sorcery is this?

But they aren't. People didn't decide to not vote for Hillary based on any Russian troll farm, they decided not to vote for Hillary because he's an infinitely untrustworthy and unlikable candidate....even worse so than Trump, which is truly mind blowing.

Blaming Russia is merely people making excuses for why a terrible candidate who ran a terrible campaign lost an election to a terrible opponent.
