That's his payback for all those years in Knicks uniform.

Even though Jared Jefferies and Tracy McGrady are equal talent-wise,

JJ revenge power > TM revenge power.

To do what he did after sitting out a few games is impressive.

I don't know why you guys are so surprised... this game is a defensive specialist after all. Considering his offensive abilities or lack thereof, he needs something to justify his existence in this league. :p

This is exactly why they put him in. He's sub-par on the offensive side, but he is supernova on the defensive side. I'm happy Jeffries and Hill got to show NYK what they lost.

That was defensive domination right there. JJ is young enough that we could resign him at a much cheaper K.

Whatever you say about him, dude is a defensive specialist.

I think he should be playing instead of Chuck Hayes. He's taller and neither has much offensive skill, but Hayes has no future with the Rockets after this season and Jeffries will most likely be Yao's backup next year.

If Battier did what Jeffries did today, people on this site would be calling for him to be named DPOY.

There are many people on this board who value effort and hustle over talent, but I agree with this. He would be a nice 3rd string player, but a luxury the team will literally not be able to afford next season.

I feel bad for Hayes if that's the case. He seems to be working hard to improve his game offensively freethrows and some moves around the basket. I hope he stays unless the rockets need to use that cap space for someone else.

There seems to be a rule of NBA fandom that you can be serviceable but "overpaid" by Team A, but once you're traded to Team B, they forget the "overpaid" part and just marvel that you're serviceable. This rule applies especially when you're traded for somebody even more overpaid.

Yeah. It's easier to overlook a contractual mistake if you weren't the one who originally made it.

When it comes to taking in garbage, at least Jeffries is good at something and might come in handy for his year and a half that he will be spending here. It's better than getting Mike James, or someone like that.

You balance the amount JJ and Hill make together over two serviceable players and 1 to 2 draft picks, it doesn't look so bad at all.

    Brian Cook sucks but

Brian Cook + Lowry >>>>> Rafer Alston

    Jackie Butler sucks but

    Butler + Scola >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Vspan

you guys are giving JJ WAAAYY too much credit... al harrington and toney douglas are two of the lowest IQ chuckers the league has seen... JJ doesnt do anything against players who are actually good.

No matter how badly he sucks from now on, he at least won't be Brian Cook, who didn't contribute a single positive thing (at least on court) to this team.

Without JJ, we lose that game. So he has earned at least one positive thread made about him.

Cook did have a nice jam, unlike JJ thus far lol

But like he said in his press conference he makes winning plays and without them we probably lose.
