This gives me the creeps. You find her in the uncanney-valley, huh? Impressive facial expression, though. Most lifelike robot I've ever seen.
It's amazing to me that they have all that technology, yet the still can't get the voices to match up.
To try to make it look innocent. Notice how with everything else being so high tech...the audio (voices) still suck. Plus...they need it to go... "oie oie uh uh uh oh...oh...oi oi oi uh.,...and make every other most annoying sounds when you're trying to enjoy a vid...i mean those noises." LOL! @ the so Ronery guy. Rep'd
That's getting out of the uncanny valley, actually. It looks like the servos can completely control her facial muscles - now it's just a question of programming them to move in a natural way. They had some stuff down, and it really looked like for most of the demo they were just showing off the muscle movements. I'm impressed that instead of simplifying the problem by only trying to mimic some facial expressions, they have built something that can make a large number of them. Seriously though, programming the facial expressions is going to like writing a symphony. It's a huge problem in time and space that needs to be resolved - I'm not sure if I'm intrigued by it or would want to run away. Maybe they can model it for the web and crowd-source it?
Don't find it creepy but I thought that **** was real, did you see the face expressions? Some day those things will be used like slaves and they'll start killing people. I hope they destroy that **** Spoiler But I would **** it
Japan is investing heavily in robotics as part of a grand strategy to deal with a population that is graying.
