Given that we are dreaming of guys ranging from the highly unlikely (Bosh) to the all but impossible (Wade) anyway, why not dream big instead of settling for these scrubs?

Could Morey be throwing out the Bosh rumors as cover and secretly work with Worldwide Wes to secure Lebron James? Morey did say James was worth 4-5 times the salary he's paid and the CBA and max salary dictates that James is underpaid. Lebron James = Moneyball = Moreygiterdone.

Morey would be the greatest GM of all time if he can pull that off.

That means Yao can actually play with a real superstar for once.

CH, hard to tell when you are serious sometimes, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Morey go after Lebron. That being said, I give it about a 1% chance of happening.

Count me as incredibly disappointed when I realized this thread was about LeBron James and not Mike James. :(

Cool. Didn't know Mike James is a writer. So, which NBA star's memory was Mike writing about?

It is fun to dream about getting LeBron James, though, as ridiculous as the idea sounds.

Is there a better way to get international fame and adoration than playing alongside of Yao Ming? Not really. That is probably the biggest appeal of Houston for someone like LeBron, but it won't be enough. I don't think James will be leaving Cleveland, either, unless they stumble horribly in the next round of the playoffs against Boston.

Still, this starting line would be ridiculous:

    Yao Ming
    Luis Scola
    LeBron James
    Kevin Martin
    Aaron Brooks

    What an offensive powerhouse.

It be greats they double team Lebron, but then they got Martin or brooks scoring at will. They can't double team Yao or Lebron because that leaves one guy covering brooks martin and scola. They couldn't single coverage Lebron because that's impossible. Lakers won't be able to stop us, Lebron negates kobe, scola + yao negate bynum and gasol, brooks > fisher, martin>artest. We'd have budinger, lowry, hill, ??? and ariza coming off the bench. We'd be champs for the next 4 years

I would merge this thread with some other 'superstar comes to Houston' threads and have this lineup:

    CP3 (brooks + fillers)
    Wade (martin + fillers)
    Lebron (ariza + fillers)
    Bosh (scola + fillers)
    Yao

why does EVERY player warrant it's own WHAT THE HELL IF thread. I'm sick of this, these need to be combined into a big keep on dreaming thread.

How about a "what if we get Scalabrine" thread...

or a "trade for Sasha" thread... let's make threads for crap players while we're at it.

I figure we have about as good of a chance at getting LBJ as most clubs not named "Cavaliers"

So a pretty bad chance at him, really.

It's really up to James. If he want to take less pay so he can win easy CHAMPIONSHIPS....then Houston is the best choice.
