Sorry to be late with this and apologize in advance if this has already been talked about,but... I like James Woods as an actor, but much more as a person since last night... He was on Jay Leno suppose to be talking about his upcoming role as Giuliani on USA this Sunday (???) and he just tore into Michael Moore...Calling him a chicken sh*t on more than one occasion and how he just can't stand around while some guy profits, yes profits off his comments...Being the "outspoken" one... He even told the joke about a penis on his head...aka DH...Freakin' hilarious...I thought Jay was gonna sh*t after he kept on and on about MM... As he put it, his dad fought in two wars and died in combat and so people like MM can have the right to free speech, but there's a time and place for everything, and this isn't the time... Classic...
Totally, it's like when people want to protest abortion. You know what I'm sayin, once abortions start, people have to get behind the law and stop protesting. If you can't protest A war while it happens, then when can you?
My friend used to regularly have James as a guest at his resturant. He said James was by far the coolest celeb he knew of.
Exactly. Before hostilities began, I remember the anti-Iraqi war people were being bashed by the warmongers who complained that "a shot hadn't been fired". They even inferred that war was only a possibility, in spite of the massive military buildup over the six or so months before the invasion. This war was a foregone conclusion and they know it.
Oski, I think there has been a lot of Anti-War people who have toned it down since the war started, so it's not like it's some far-fetched idea. You have some of those who still say, "I think our troops our over their murdering innocent Iraqi's for oil......BUT, I support our troops." All I have to say is, BULL****! How stupid do you think the soldiers are that they're going to take that as "support?" And if Michael Moore can criticize the President for being dishonest and an opportunist, then he can be accused of the same thing.
I don't know what to tell you guys. All I'm saying is the protesters have a right to be wrong as long as they believe in what they are doing. You can call them idiots and disagree and all of that, but don't say that there is a wrong time to protest and they shouldn't. If somebody believes in something, you can't tell them to just throw it out the window and shut up. As long as they aren't breaking the law, they can do whatever the hell they want IMHO. The people breaking the law are getting handled, i.e. arrested. Apply your logic to Vietnam. Different time, diff. war, diff. circumstances, but had everybody just blindly followed the govt, what would have happened?
I was listening to the Sean Hannity radio show one night...some anti-Bush/American moron (another actor, I think) was a guest and Woods called up out of the blue and put him in his place.
Well one gentleman tried that here in Kerrville during a pro-war rally recently and he was removed by the cops. He was simply holding a sign with a message written "War is Terrorism". He was the one being heckled and even threatened by the pro-war crowd, yet he was the one who was removed. Unfortunately there are animals on both sides.
