LeBron James has been very active in his attempts to recruit players to come play for the Heat.

"LeBron has done more recruiting in the last five days than he did in the last three years," said one Western Conference executive.

James acted like a bystander during most of his time with the Cavaliers, most notably declining to give a commitment to free agent Trevor Ariza during the summer of 2009.

LerBon: come play for the LerBon. LerBon will get you rings.

    Wade: yeyuh.

    Bosh claps.

That's probably all it takes as vets are already lined up.

Why is this surprising? LeBron wasn't sure he would re-sign with the Cavs last summer. Recruiting, then leaving, would have been the jerkiest thing he could have done.

Um, not wanting Ariza to play on his team does not necessarily mean he was sandbagging in Cleveland... I'm just sayin'...

EXACTLY!!!! What they were saying is Lebron had so much influence on the Cav's team that he determined who they were going to go after, sign, and let go..

Now were hearing he has been quiet this whole time?

Its like when you know you're going to break up with your girlfriend. You're going to slowly make less and less long term commitments (ie giving trevor ariza his word etc etc.)

For a while he was probably serious about winning a championship in Cleveland. Over time that changed. Such is life. I think it's natural.

Is he talking about his last couple of years in Cleveland, or his whole tenure there? It's one thing not making commitment at the last year of his contract. It's totally different if he never had any commitment to win in Cleveland like he does with Miami.

he might have not been involved at all. those false rumors that cavs have been putting out to show how much the cavs accomodated him and he rejected them just to put a bad light on a lebron.

i think if lebron was the real GM, ferry would have traded for amare. there is no way lebron would prefer jamison over amare.
