Will make this short and sweet:

Love his game (has saved our asses on more than one occasion in closing out a W).

    Best defender since Mario Elie.

Fits our team nicely (Starting to find a niche, and should definitely be a started even when Glenn Rice gets back).

Definitely one of the pieces I think can long term help us get to the championship.

I hope to hell that we re-sign him long term. Dude is young and will only get better. Probably my favorite Rocket right now......

    That is all.

    :D

    Amen.

He's utilities and intangibles in an athletic frame. He's like our Christie. Our Horry. Our Rodman. He'll get down and dirty and makes the defensive plays that win ballgames.

Oh, come on. Could you guys really like a player who plays defense, scores 14 points a game, plays with unselfish abandon and thinks about the game while it is in progress? Where's your sense of adventure?

How many times has he saved us with a crucial steal towards the end of the game. The guy is unbelieveable.

The only think he needs to practice on is his jumper. If he can consistently hit a three pointer and the mid-range shot he will be one of the better players in the league.

LOL, folks! I love his intangibles as well... the way he disrupts the offense of the other team. He does so much that doesn't show up on the stat sheet. Someone who knows how to run the break (amazing!), that can finish (and MAN, can he finish), that plays within the offense even as he's learning it. A great pick-up. Kudos to CD & RT. :)

Posey is truly a special player. He is a smaller version of Robert Horry.

Also, dont forget that Posey actually had a TRIPLE DOUBLE earlier this year on the Nuggets. Suffice to say, he will most likely not get that on a stacked Rox team but he does have all around skills.

For now, I still like seeing him jacking up too many 3s. But I love the way he plays d, rebounds, and cuts to the basket..

he is insane. We are sooo lucky to have gotten him.

JP is showing that he is a crucial part of the rocks lineup. He has saved us many times late in games with his phenomenol (sp?) defense.

So you love his allaround game?! His jacking of 3's and cuts?

JP is great, we are lucky to have gotten him.

    lol...

He likes seeing him jack up 3's????

Hmm...well yeah. He can shoot 3's too!

He can make the mid-range jumpers too. They have run some plays for him doing that. He is great at cutting and is fortunate to have Yao with him. He is very quick and can dunk and is just tireless. He is an energizer.

    I hope we resign him.

His outside shooting and his ability to drive and dish to the open man have both surprised me. He's definitely not JUST a defensive stopper like everyone says.

When we first aquired him and I learned he was leading the league in turnovers and that his fg% was in the low 40s, I was thinking "great, another out of control player that takes a lot of bad shots". But he's turned out to be the exact opposite.

He doesn't make many mistakes. He knows when to shoot and when to pass. With such an young inconsistent team, it's great to have a player like him to bring some stability to the team. You can pretty pencil him to get you 12-16 points and bring great defense every single game.

I still think he can be better once Rudy finds ways to utilize his slashing ability instead of shooting outside jumpers all the time.

He has already been utilized very well. He can help even more!
    He fits perfectly!

And yeah, at first, I thought .... field goal percentage was 0.373%
It didn't seem too good. He also had many turnovers. But the reason was because he was the only player on the Denver Nuggets. He had to find ways to score. They just gave it to him and Juwan Howard. He must be happy at Houston as well. :)

    Please resign him!

He is the perfect compliment to Francis and Yao. He plays hard defense, can distribute the ball to Yao, as well as the ablility to hit threes and mid range jumpers. Francis, Posey, Mobley, Yao and Griffin is developing into an awesome starting lineup that would not be awesome with Jim.

That was a great trade! He needs to be the bonafide starter. I am making a Glen Who? poster for my next Rockets game. And you need to come jam with my Drew! I have lots of Shiner Blonde and an obsession with jaming in 12bar.

what type of salary do you think its going to take to keep posey? what can the rockets afford? i wouldnt mind the rox dropping 4 million a year on this guy for 5 years. would that fit the salary cap?

i wasn't a fan of that trade when it happened. i always liked kenny thomas's work ethic, but posey has definitely won me over. early in the season i mentioned a few times that i wished we had a player like Ron Artest. We got Posey, and i'm not complaining. He's exactly the player we needed. i hope they resign him too.
