Would bringing Posey back for the MLE be a good idea? If we do draft a guy like Sean Williams and fill the PF hole. He can backup TMac and Battier at SG and SF and he can knock down 3's. He's a solid defender and provides us with some size and athleticism. Makes Luther and Snyder expendable to be included with Sura in a trade.

as it stands Posey wouldn't really fit on our roster...but I would consider signing him under certain circumstances:

    1. Battier is dealt in a trade.
    2. He is given only a portion of the MLE.
    3. We sign or trade for a starting SG so T-Mac starts at the 3.

If we keep battier, I see no reason to waste the MLE on Posey.

i agree that battier and posey are a little redundant, and we need to diversify the roster, but this is a weak crop of FA's and we still need some size at SG/SF. if we can't find a PF through FA and address that through the draft, then i think posey would be our best bet to come off the bench as a defender and 3 pt shooter. any better ideas on who we can spend the MLE on?

    In two words, HELL NO!

Dude we are loaded with wings and guards. Posey is not as good as Bonzi or Snyder at this point. And he is a dis-intrested clone of Battier without the hustle. Just not a good fit plus we do not need a Sg/Sf.

I would agree that we don't need more marginal SGs or SFs...we have plenty of that.

I would like the Rockets to sign him. It might be one of the only options we have in the free agent market with the MLE.

What troubles me a llittle bit is that he was arrested last year. I am not sure if he might be another trouble maker (Bonzi deja-vu). But yeah I would still take the chance.

I like that guy too. He can post up but he's also a good shooter. I think he'll be a good weapon for our bench. He's also pretty good defender, isn't he?

I like that, or maybe even Desmond Mason if he is willing to take the MLE

mason isnt a very good outside shooter though. he didnt even attempt a 3pt shot last year.

if we can get posey for less than full MLE, i would jump on that.

MASON IS A PUNK, so is posey

Mason broke in a fight with Yao, and almost killed T-Mac in one game which could have broke his back, also got Rafer ejected in a game we valued really much...

Fack that dude pisses me off... He sucks at FT too

Screw Posey. A long time ago in my younger Rockets fandom, I snuck down to court level and he just interviewed with Murph... My friends and I waved and yelled "Hey Posey!!", he waved us off (it was not a hello wave, it was a get the hell out of my face wave) and didn't even say Hi or anything. Screw that guy.

(and also he would be another guy that can sometimes make 3's and maybe board a bit...i would want to shake things up more than that)

Saying Mason isn't a good outside shooter is one of the biggest understatements I've ever heard.

HE IS ONE OF THE VERY WORST SHOOTERS IN THE ENTIRE LEAGUE.

Posey for the cheap would be a good fit. He's a solid defender and good three-point shooter off the bench.

Mike James, Tmac, Battier, Snyder, Rafer, Bonzi, Head... hell, Lucas, Vspan, and Novak are still wing players. If thats not loaded, I dont know what to tell you. You could make arguments against Rafer, Snyder and perhaps Bonzi as not being wing players or gaurds (well... they ARE gaurds... but still). That leaves 4 solid wing players. Meanwhile we only have 2 big men (Yao and Deke).
