scored one single basket this season that was not the result of an assist.

100% of his baskets are assisted.

I wonder if anyone else in NBA history (other than guys who didn't play a significant number of games) has ever done it.

I guess when you are a role player on the Miami Heat and you got 3 superstars and your only role is to shoot, why not? :)

93% of his shots were assisted last year.

I guess its sort of like a free throw streak. Maybe by the end of the year it will be around 96%?

He didn't say there was anything bad about it. He's asking if anybody else has done it before.

As far as this season, I didn't find anyone with 100% assisted field goals and nearly the same amount of minutes played as Jones. I think the closest I found was Matt Bonner with 95% in 432 minutes played (compared to 663 minutes by Jones)

lol, Clutchfans has gotten so bad that even the vets don't believe anyone can post something just because it's interesting. They have to be dogging someone.

That is one of the craziest stats I've seen. The guy has hit 66 shots and not once did he create his own...damn that's nuts.

Shane Battier? Although he does occasionally throw up a hook shot or two.

Yep, just thought it's unusual. Lots of spot-up shooters around the league, several of them have 85% or 90% of their shots created by others, but 100%? I mean, he didn't even once, say, catch the ball, dribbled once or twice to avoid a defender flying at him, then launched his shot? You'd think by accident he would have an unassisted basket.

Wow the definition of a pure spot up shooter, doesn't do anything else

    I checked on 82games.com

Anyways, you have to consider how assists are tallied. It doesn't strictly mean scoring off a catch and shoot, a few dribbles are allowed. So its not like James Jones never puts the ball on the floor prior to shooting.

But this is a pretty interesting stat.

Thats exactly why its sometimes better to excel in ONE trait than to be an all around guy with no specific strength. Which is why Steve Novak stays in the league but James White doesnt.

I can't see it changing, if Jones has to create his own shot on that Miami team, they are doing it wrong.

I wonder how many of those assists were really assists and how many were just given out to help stuff Lebron's or Wade's stat sheet. Given that Jones is scoring just as much on the road as at home, I would guess they're mostly legit assists.

That's what I wanted to say. They may be piling the numbers for those guys.
