I did not see a post here but this is the show will be broadcasted on BET tonight for this first annual award and somehow I saw the news that Harden had won the MVP voted by the players. Not sure if this is posted or the picture I found looked pretty real.
Not sure why the pic does not work, but this is the link to the website - its legit Chinese hoop website. http://bbs.hupu.com/13264826.html
John Wall votes this a one-star thread http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on...wall-wont-vote-for-nbpa-players-choice-awards
True, but getting the praise from your colleagues that you are working with everyday is better than the cleaners whose watching you everyday outside the window.
True. It's good to get praise from your peers but does it mean much when it comes to how well you play? It could just mean you are a very friendly guy. Plus how often do players watch games they didn't play in? Does JR Smith really know how good Marc Gasol is? Is Zaza Pachulia the best person to decide between Steph Curry and James Harden? Professionals who watch, talk/write about, and analyze the game are better suited IMO. Coaches votes are even better.
Yeah but can someone please let me know how many 3's in a row Step has made in a practice this summer and MOAR VIDEOS OF HIS ADORABLE FAMILY PLZ
Well professional athletes do have to watch hours of film tape on each other when prepping for games... So they probably have a good idea........
No, Harden will not be classified as "a friendly guy" among the players. In fact, not many players like him at all and people can not wait and jump on laughing at his defense 2 years ago, plus the fact of him sleeping with strippers and dating with former player's wife (divorced or not) doesn't help either. And that's exactly why this popularity contest is more trust worthy than the other one. But still it will come down to this : getting a hardware like this or even the league MVP means nothing when it will be compared with a ring. He knows that.
http://defpenradio.com/nba-players-select-james-harden-to-win-mvp-at-nbpa-players-awards/ [rquoter]James Harden has been voted by his peers to win the NBPA ‘Players’ Awards’ MVP honors, a source tells Def Pen Radio. Harden beat out fellow nominees LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook and of course, Stephen Curry.[/rquoter] The award show airs tonight on BET.
But they only watch tapes for two games if the team is in a different conference. And they are focused on how the team affects them. Like I said, a center is not going to watch how well a SG hits his threes. And a PG is not going to appreciate how a PF boxes out to get rebounds.
Looks like BET is not revealing the winners until tonight, but some Chinese website seems to have out-scooped all US media people. Woj only "league" sources, I guess. http://www.bet.com/shows/the-players-awards/top-vote-getters.html Probably not "league" sources because these are NBPA awards owned by the players' union. We need "union" sources.
