A lot of attention was made to Harden's quote about needing guard help. Surprised this didn't get more attention: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">More Harden: "... and the coaches is one of the pieces we need to have, that’s later conversation but we’ll be alright."</p>— Calvin Watkins (@calvinwatkins) <a href="https://twitter.com/calvinwatkins/status/604308895394324480">May 29, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Whether this is referring to McHale or the assistants, it's pretty clear Harden is not satisfied with the current coaching staff (and of course we know this starts with McHale).
It seemed that he was referring to discussing ball handlers with Daryl and the Coaches, not discussing the coaches with Daryl.
Way to take a tweet out of context: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">James Harden wants the Rockets to get a PG/SG?: Yeah definitely, that’s one of the conversations that me and Daryl (Morey) are going to have</p>— Calvin Watkins (@calvinwatkins) <a href="https://twitter.com/calvinwatkins/status/604308606654234624">May 29, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">More Harden: "... and the coaches is one of the pieces we need to have, that’s later conversation but we’ll be alright."</p>— Calvin Watkins (@calvinwatkins) <a href="https://twitter.com/calvinwatkins/status/604308895394324480">May 29, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> James Harden wants the Rockets to get a PG/SG?: "Yeah that's definitely one of the conversations that me and Daryl (Morey) are going to have and the coaches is one of the pieces we need to have, that's later conversation but we'll be alright." The wording is odd but it's not a different comment. It's a continued response to the question.
I am glad Harden is being vocal about what he thinks is needed to improve the team. That shows leadership qualities that are still developing.
You misunderstood. That tweet was continued from another tweet. It was basically: "Do you guys need guard help?" "Yeah, definetly. But that's a conversation I'm going to have with Daryl Morey and the coaches... it's one of the pieces we need to have. That's a later conversation but we'll be alright." So it was 2 tweets, and you didn't post the first one, plus it was punctuated poorly by Calvin Watkins.
James Harden would like help at guard:"That's 1 of the conversations me & Daryl r going 2 have & the coaches,1 of the pieces we need to add, that’s later conversation but we’ll be alright." The 2 tweets juxtaposed.
The main thing that needs to be improved is OP's reading comprehension. Zergling needs to read harder and with more energy.
Yeah, twitter's 140 chars to blame here... Definitely not slam at coaching. No worries op, unfortunately the media/some of the other posters here will probably run with it, haha.
Poor grammar by Harden and poor punctuation by Calvin Watkins. If the theory is Harden wants a PG and not to improve coaching, he should have said "That's one of the conversations that me, Daryl, and the coaches are going to have, it's one of the pieces we need to have..." Harden should have identified all subjects before saying the verb. As is, it reads as two sentences. "Me and Daryl" as subjects in sentence one, then "coaches" as the subject for the second sentence makes it read like two separate thoughts. No need to dog pile the OP for Harden's bad grammar. Add grammar lessons to the list of Harden's offseason priorities.
