"HA HA, very funny, m*th* f*ck*r... i'd supposed you'll say that Stevie drive a car slam it right into a tree now, huh ? VERY FUNNY! Yo mama got teeth in the back of her head and the b_tch chew like this... [makes neck movement]"

I went with Stevie for personals reasons. I still remember my mom playing Innervisions ALL the time when it came out. Day, night, it didn't matter. I was 3 going on 4. My mom basically raised me on his music. JB's influence though, in my opinion, is much greater. Could there have been funk w/o JB? How about Rap? Stevie was just as influential to vocalists, songwiters and such. But not on whole musical genres like Brown. The classic songs, albums and not to forget that Stevie was about 10-11 years old when he started also played a huge part in my voting.

This is not a coincidence And far more than a lucky chance But what is that was always meant Is our ribbon in the sky for our love, love We cant lose with God on our side Well find strength in each tear we cry From now on it will be you and i And our ribbon in the sky Ribbon in the sky A ribbon in the sky for our love Stevie! Stevie! Stevie!
I love Stevie, but how can anyone compete with this: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/pq1w0syylZI"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/pq1w0syylZI" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
I loved it when he would do that slide move. In this video, he looked like he was having sex with an invisible woman.
Man, no love for James Brown. JB was way more than a show man. Listen to how he arranges Make It Funky, on the fly. His great song Say it Loud (I'm Black and I'm Proud) was more important than anything Stevie has ever done. I love Stevie, but, come on, there is no way he is greater than James. It's not even close.
Let me clarify it further: James Brown was the greater singles artist; Stevie Wonder was the greater albums artist.
