on wednesday i am going to be heading to jamba juice as they are having "auditions" for jobs. There was a poster there that said i needed to bring a crazy hat, and a good clean joke, and this was reaffirmed by their manager telling me that i better have both. in addition, i need to succintly tell them why i should be working at jamba juice. i love the juice, and have been a fan for almost 4 years. this is the first time i am doing something like this (interview), and given the circumstances (hat and joke), its making it more nerveracking than it should be for a first interview. well, i know some of you have been in similar situations, so i am turning to the clutchbbs for advice on life. Does anyone have any helpful advice for me? any at all would be much appreciated.
You should tell them that people can save $3-4 on overpriced smoothies if they just invest in a blender and go buy some sherbert, juice and canned/frozen fruit. I loved Jamba Juice too until I went home and made my own one time, and it tasted just as good as theirs.
True. You need a good blender, orange juice, a banana, and frozen fruit, and you will get a great healthy smoothie. They make all kinds of frozen fruit, and you can experiment with interesting combinations. One time I tried blackberry & pineapple; it tasted good, if I could get past the weird gray color.
hehe, i know theres already countless threads on smoothies here, and im trying to get my first real job. would it help if i said i was only 16?
In all seriousness, the key is to be loose. The hat and joke...big deal. I'm sure you have a funky hat and there are a bazillion jokes on the internet. Find one that's good. As for the interview itself, again, you need to have a loose attitude, but still express the fact that the job is important to you. In all reality, at 16, the job shouldn't be that important to you, because even though you're a Jamba Juice fan, I'm sure there are a number of other jobs out there you can get that are similiar. So, keeping in mind the fact that if you don't get the job, it's not really that big of a deal, go in there and get the job. Make sense?
inler, they just want to get an idea about what kind of personality you have. they are not judging you on your hat or your joke, they want to see if you will be a nice, outgoing, people kind of person. what they dont want is some kid coming in and saying "I couldnt find any good hats, and i dont think I am very funny so could we just get to the interview?" here is a joke a 5 year old once told me and had me cracking up for days. "how do you keep a dog out of the street? Put him in a barking lot" good luck
Preach on! That place is so over-priced its ridiculous. Just get some low-fat frozen yogurt, ice, milk, add whatever fruits you like, and blend. freakin' easy.
