There was supposedly a story in the RockyMountainNews.com that the Rockets had inquired about Nuggets C Jamal Sampson for a portion of the trade exception (which expires today), but I can't seem to pull it up. Can anyone find this?
I can't pull it up either. Would he play 4 or 5? and behind who? The excerpt says something about Houston's TE expiring today? What? -lazybum234
Couldnt get the rockymountainnews link to work...but heres the blip from Prosportsdaily: "Houston has a $4.2 million trade exception that expires today. The Rockets have inquired about Nuggets center Jamal Sampson..." EDIT: heres the link that works: http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/nba/article/0,2777,DRMN_23922_5348201,00.html

Sampson is big, extremely athletic and can chew up the boards. I would have no problem with the rockets making that trade.
That's exactly the kind of guy we need. It's not that I'm not satisfied with the job Deke, Howard and Hayes are doing for us - but Deke and Howard are kind of slow and Chuck is small. We could really use somebody big and athletic for match up purposes. It would really help against teams like the Mavs and the Suns.
of course, everyone wants a better player but if nothing is out there then you take what you can get. And even though he hasnt shown much in his career ,a 6'11 athletic bigman, who is still young, isnt all that bad....i guess
This just in! Houston Rockets also making inquiries into the availability of Steve Drexler, Joe Olajuwon, Frank Horry, and Roger Cassell. Considering the Rockets already have Chuck Hayes, I think this team is in good shape for the future.
