They just got talking about it on the NBA Shoot Around. Both agreed that Yao is the better overall player then Howard. Jon said at the end of a close game he rather have Yao get the ball then Howard. This is coming from two people that played the game so take it for what its worth. Dude that prick Stu Scott has always hated Yao since day one! He tried desperately to sway the opinion of Jamal and Jon that DH is better but only to get shot down. Hahahah!

Scott says the most r****ded records.

You'd expect him to say something like this.

"Dwight Howard is the only player ever to have over 13 points, 14 rebounds and 3 blocks for 3 games in a row. "

Reality > Fantasy, at least under circumstances.

He does, however, kill your FT% like Shaq used to.

Unless you're playing in a league without FT% AND TOs as categories...

In which case the only three players to look at are Dwight, Lebron and maybe CP3.

100% agree. Guy puts up ridiculously beastly numbers.

Yao has more intangibles though and in real games, I'd take Yao.

CP3 is wicked above Dwight and Lebron. His able to dominate assists steals and Turnovers.

Of course, this SHOULD be obvious to most people...

And yeah, Howard is the guy you want long-term, because he's got probably double the effective years Yao has left. But when you're talking about right now, it's kinda hard to argue with Yao.

Stuart Scott is pretty much the Andre Aldridge of ESPN. It's obvious no one likes him, but for some reason he still gets air time.

In an unrelated story, Mashburn and Barry were arrested today for possession of narcotics.

Yao has to be the best center in NBA because he's the only good center in NBA now. How many real centers are still here in NBA? Shaq, Z, Yao,....
It seems that no one wants to be considered as a center any more. I the past time, the players all felt proud to be a center because centers were always thought to be greater and more powerful than the Forwards and Guards. but now we tend to consider them as "Stronger guys with less intelligence". their moves are slumsy and their reactions are plunted. The players always want to be treated as PFs even though they are all doing the center work. TD is definitely a center but he would like to let others consider him as a PF, so he changed his official height from 6'11 to 6'10, in fact he's no less lower than 7'1.

Yao is the best one of the only 6 centers who are still alive in NBA today.
Stoudmire and DH are PFs. Yao is only a little bit better than Z and Shaq.

Apparently then Dwight Howard and Yao Ming are the two best Centers in the NBA? I didn't see the video, but those were the only 2 names mentioned.

Realistically, Dwight isn't even a real Center anyway. Outside of him being 6' 11, what makes him any different from say Carl Landry? Yao is a true Center, but if he is the best center in the NBA, the NBA must be down when you look at what we have seen the last 10 years or so with Shaq.
