    Guys,

What about trading for Jamaal Magloire PF/C from the Bucks. You are talking about a guy that has a mid-jumper, jump hook, and gets 10 & 10 per game. Good depth guy that will be able to back up Yao/J-Ho.

We could ship either Dike with a 2nd round pick or Rafer to the Bucks.

    What do you think?

He's making 8.3 million this season. How would we match salaries?

Trade exception is around 4 million, so no we can't cover it. And just to reiterate for the millionth time, you can't combine a TE with a player.

Assuming you could make the salaries work, which I don't think you can, why would they do this?

And why would we give up our starting PG?

Yeah the Bucks seem set on PG with a rotation of Williams / Bell since they traded T.J. Ford. Why would they want to add Rafer to that mix?

yeah i mean the bucks would certainly do both of those trades. how about we make it j-ho and ryan bowen for magloire? and magloire is an expiring contract so it would REALLY benefit us.

come on man...if you are going to propose a ridiculous trade then at least go to realgm.com and check it.

    Houston Trade Breakdown

    Outgoing

    Ryan Bowen
    6-9 SF from Iowa
    1.3 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 0.4 apg in 9.7 minutes

    Juwan Howard
    6-9 PF from Michigan
    11.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.7 minutes

    Incoming

    Jamaal Magloire
    6-11 C from Kentucky
    9.2 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 0.7 apg in 30.1 minutes

Change in team outlook: -3.9 ppg, +1.5 rpg, and -1.1 apg.

    Milwaukee Trade Breakdown

    Outgoing

    Jamaal Magloire
    6-11 C from Kentucky
    9.2 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 0.7 apg in 30.1 minutes

    Incoming

    Ryan Bowen
    6-9 SF from Iowa
    1.3 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 0.4 apg in 9.7 minutes

    Juwan Howard
    6-9 PF from Michigan
    11.8 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.4 apg in 31.7 minutes

Change in team outlook: +3.9 ppg, -1.5 rpg, and +1.1 apg.

    Successful Scenario
Due to Houston and Milwaukee being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Milwaukee had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining

Acquiring Magloire(possibly using the TE) is exactly the kind of move I'd like to see.We get our interior defense/boardman/enforcer at the 4 and a backup 5...Would you all give up Luther in this deal if that's what it took?

The Bucks are going to want Luther in this deal, esp. if their taking Howard off our hands.

We've probably all wondered about Magloire's status. I think for us to get involved would take a 3rd team, because Magloire might be a little....lumbering...for the PF spot (perfect for center).

We would have to include Juwan, and while he's an OK player, they already have CV starting at 4, with Gadzuric and former 1st-overall pick got-Minnesota-in-trouble Joe Smith.

Unless Joe Smith also got moved in the deal (ain't NOBODY taking Gadzuric), there ain't no deal.

Ok what about a Howard and Head for Magloire?

This would be a win now scenario. Magloire has only one more year on his contract. He could be our starting 4 and give Yao a rest @ C. He is not athletic enough to cover the Dirk's of the world but he is long enough to play guys like Duncan hard.

Another benifit is the fact we may be able to get rid of Howard's contract and have more room for next off season's moves.

    Thoughts?

I think this should be a trade Houston pursues but I don't think we have what it takes to get it done without a third team and I imagine you can exclude most teams in the West will refuse to help out a serious playoff contender like us...

You can try the realgm.com trade checker but we just don't realistically have the pieces to get this done unless Juwon Howard is involved and Luther Head would most likely have to be thrown in. The Bucs want depth at the Guard & SF. I could see how a young team like that would want a guy like Head so they may be interested in a trade, but I find it hard to believe they would be willing to take back JHo's salary for that.

Honestly, the Rockets would be better served with Magloire on the defensive side and rebounding, but Howard's offensive game fits in better with Yao in the post or in pick n roll situations. Tough call if Magloire is the guy for their style but he is more of a bruiser and we know VG likes that...

The only way we might make it work is if the Rockets pull off some sort of a deal using their TE to get a player the Bucs want but can't otherwise get and throw that in the deal that still includes Howard but a deal like that will takes months to get done.

Remember too that Magloire is a free agent next year and if he has a good year with the Rockets....well, we are without a starting PF. Of course you could also look at it like the soft market of those willing to trade for Magloire is an indicator of his dimineshed value so maybe the Rockets get him to sign at a discount. Tough call...

Yeah,I would give up Howard AND Head for Jamaal in a 3 teamer.Remember we also have next year's one.If we could get a nice hybrid 1/2 along with Magliore it could go...
    Head
    Howard

    for
    Magliore
hybrid 1/2 from a 3rd team - borderline starter at least
Another team WOULD most likely have to be involved.

Man who signed JHo to this ridiculously long contract this late in his career - was it that idiot Weisbrod? (What is he doing now - shining hockey pucks for someone's farm club?)

BTW JHo is Battier in 4 to 6 years. JHo would be good for 18-20 min off the bench but he cannot do it for 36 minutes any more and keep up with the young horses. His hops is gone.

Is Joe Smith available? I'd much rather have him. I think he'd fit the team better. And he's an expiring contract as well.

I 'd rather see Howard + Bowen for Magloire ... the idea Bowen leaves the Rockets would make my off season! :D
