Since Toronto is going in the craper anyway why not see if they will take a couple of expiring contracts and a decent player for a disgrunled player?

So we trade two solid players in Howard and Westly and a bad contract for Rose? Heck no. What is up with all the Westly trades?

    05/06 $15,694,250
    06/07 $16,901,500

Those numbers are kind of hard to swallow. Plus, having a player the calibur of Howard coming off the bench is key. It's not worth sacrificing our frontcourt depth to get a player who will cry if he doesn't start and as a player, is basically kind of redundant with what we already have in Derek Anderson.

If you change up the offer and go with Wesley, Baker and Moochie for Rose---that's a different story.

From either team's perspective, I wouldn't do this trade.

Jalen can't be a good fit and is too expensive.

If you think it's an unfair trade, then one of the two teams would come out on top in this trade. That team would be the Raptors. It's a laugher. Toronto would get rid of an average player with a humongous contract for two better players with reasonable contracts.
Babcock would say: Where do I sign up for this?

Why would houston even think about that trade. Trade 2 quality players for a whinning aging combo guard forward. We are losing 2 potential starters for Jalem Rose. And quit picking on Wesley, he was a key player for us last year. Just because of the trouble he had guarding larger guards is no reason to dump him. Anderson can now take care of larger guards and Wesley can take care of the smaller guards.
Bad deal for Houston. But a good one for the Raptors.

ehhhhhhhh.... nie... non ... NO. Jalen rose is gettin old and we would need a pf in return.... If they gave us chris bosch for that.... sure.... if we kept howard from it then maybe.... but losing depth to get an old man in Jalen Rose who has a contract that ginormous..... u have got to be kidding or have lack of sleep or smoking some really good stuff... and in that case pass it around.

I'm not as high on Rose as I was a few years ago.

I don't think we need to make further changes, but I get the feeling that CD has 1 more trick up his sleeve.

    Jalen Rose
    PPG 18.5 RPG 3.4 APG 2.6 SPG .78 BPG .12 FG% .455 FT% .854 3P% .394 MPG 33.5

    David Wesley
    PPG 11.9 RPG 2.9 APG 3.3 SPG 1.20 BPG .11 FG% .398 FT% .857 3P% .375 MPG 34.7

Rose is 2 years younger than Wesley.
Rose avg’s 6.7 points, .5 rebounds more than Wesley with 1.2 min less playing time.
    Rose is 7” taller.
Rose can play 3 positions PG/SG/SF. Wesley can only play SG because of his height which I might add allows other teams to post him up.
    Rose has a higher fg% and 3p%.

    Juwan Howard
    PPG 9.6 RPG 5.7 APG 1.5 SPG .52 BPG .08 FG% .451 FT% .843 3P% .133 MPG 26.6
Howard only played in 61 games and only started in 47 games. Now has new health problems. With those stats and his health issues is he really worth his contract? What kind of trade value does he have? We would be lucky to get a player as versitale and talented as Rose who only has one year left on his contract. The only thing you can say negative about him is he might cause chemistry problems because he has complained about his situation in Toronto. Didn't TMac do the same thing in Orlando?

It's amazing to me how after 2 years of JVG people still don't understand that if you can't play defense you can't play for JVG. Who has Jalen Rose ever shut down? He has lost all athleticism and he's a finesse player.

Welsey is a bulldog. I'd rather have him than Rose.

Wesley shot a better percentage. Rose was the first or second scoring option, so of course he's going to score more points.

Juwan Howard is a 18PPG career player just like Rose was last year. You can't expect the third or fourth offensive option to score 18PPG. Juwan's reduced production wasn't due to the fact that he didn't play well. It was due to him adapting to a new system, taking less shots and playing better defense to fulfill his role on the team. After Juwan became a full-time starter (after Taylor was traded) he averaged 14PPG and 8RPG.

Actually, there are many more negative things you could say about him. And many of those things have been said. In this thread.

He'd make us slower and hasn't played defense since college. He also doesn't rebound. He makes too much money ($32million over the next two years!!)

    We don't need Jalen Rose.

I meant Welsey shot a better percentage before he was weary towards the end of the season.

I was thinking the same thing, why does everybody want to trade Wesley? I think he's solid.

Who has Juwan Howard ever shut down?

VG doesnt rely on individual defense anyway. He has a system designed around a team concept not one on one D.

Your comparing Howards career stats to Roses last year stats?
