It's actually the craziest thing about the hate either one receives. They're almost designed to be complementary players to each other. Super pumped for this season, I think it's going to be a big one for both guys and cement them as an upper-tier duo in the league. I do think it was a lot of luck, but despite the insane hype for Amen I genuinely believe (and have for years now) that we lucked out in that first draft and got our best 2 prospects of the entire bunch.

I’m going to go down hoping no matter what! You won’t get any cynicism out of me! There will be enough on CF for all of us! :D

For the most part, you are confusing criticism with hate ..... and that's not the case except for one dude & I dunno why you guys respond to that.

I'm skeptical that Sengun is "the man" but he's a solid player.

I complain about Jalen's shooting .... but if he ever figures that out, he's a top 5 player in the league with his ability to create space - I hope he has a hell of a season and we can put all the arguing behind about him behind us.

I'm not sold on either of them .... but they can change that.

I'll be there with you. I'm team hype train this year, and bullish to a T, can't wait to get back in the playoffs.

Sengun has elite offense and middling defense.
Jalen has elite athleticism, poor offensive efficiency and middling defense.

Neither, prior to the start of this season, is "The Man" BUT, they both have another opportunity to take that trophy now, with additional competition from a 3rd year Jabari and 2nd year Thompson fighting for the role. It's a really, really good problem to have.

    My sentiments for months.

Both Sengun and Green get extensions (next summer imo)

Fit a #1, 2, or 3rd option on offense by way of trade/free agency
    or
a couple of accessory players (3 & D players) by way of free agency.

    then Sengun/Green extensions
    ________________

Tale of two styles on offense and defense with some overlap.

Rockets staggered minutes with Harden from CP3/Westbrook for years.

*I expect the starters to start (most of the overlap)
*Depending on opponents, can determine which player (Green/Sengun) gets subbed out after 5 minutes
    of game.

*Team Sengun: slower PACE with Sengun and VanVleet, Drop Back defense.
*Team Jalen Green: Faster PACE, switch everything on defense.
    _________________

Starters: VanVleet / Jalen Green / Dillon Brooks / Jabari Smith / Sengun

Team Sengun: VanVleet / Cam Whitmore / Dillon Brooks / Jabari / Sengun ......[ Steven Adams ]

Team Green: Jalen Green / Amen / Tari / Jabari / Maker...........[ Jack Landale ]

Play on both squads/lineups/styles: Reed Sheppard, Holiday, Cam Whitmore, Jack McVeigh, Tari, Jabari,
Dillon Brooks, Amen Thompson, Thon Maker

**I expect Sengun to hit 3's better as three trainers went to work with Sengun.
This will allow Jalen Green and Sengun to play more time together. Also gives
Udoka the option of moving Sengun to PF while Steven Adams plays center.
Thon Maker and Sengun playing Center/PF (interchangeable).

3rd star obtained hopefully would be able to play in both styles.
That way there will be at least two quote unquote stars on the court at the
same time. Sengun and Star then Green and Star. I'm looking at SF or PF.

    3rd star ... Big Money
Jalen Green ... Extension (summer 2025)
    Sengun ... Extension (summer 2025)

    Jabari ... I don't expect big money (2026)
Tari ... Re-signed to not big money (2026)

Cam Whitmore ... Cross that bridge when we get there
Amen Thompson ... Cross that bridge when we get there

Thon Maker & Tari gives the Rockets some leverage when Jabari is due an extension.

I love seeing them on the court together. I feel like adding Reed out there will make a bit of a mess defensively, but that's to be expected with ANY lineup featuring 3 kids. I remind myself all the time (especially with Alpi) that they are so young and guarding the best players in the world is no easy task. Sengun is passable defensively. Of course he can't guard Jokic and Embiid. No one can lol. Of course Jalen is inconsistent. The players of his archetype often take years before they're consistently getting theirs despite being the focal point of opposing defenses.

I just hope the shooting overall as a team is improved, and that will really make or break the potential of this team.

I wonder if the schedule makers could put most our games in March?

The franchise player joke is fine as long as people can adjust their opinions when results dictate they should do so. For instance, the Warriors sucked when they had Monta Ellis, Curry, and Klay, and became good only after they got rid of Ellis. I am all for the Rockets giving Jalen more time to right himself, and I still think he has fringe All-Star level upside. But if Sheppard and Cam are showing more this season, yet can't grow because someone's taking 20 shots per game ahead of them, then the Rockets need to think about a similar move to the Monta Ellis trade.

After being laughed at the last 4 years, and even by many during the Harden years because he’s so polarizing, I’m embracing the newfound respect. Never thought I’d see this kind of stay-the-course improvement under Fertitta, but I’m here for it.

Alpi is 100% our franchise player. Jalen still has to prove himself by showing consistency from start to finish this season. If they both end up max players that would be one of the best drafts in history. I am rooting for Jalen and I hope he does not let me down but I have to admit I have doubts.

I heard that they are working on an extension for Sengun.

Not the case with Jalen. (not that it couldn't happen)

I don't think it makes sense to extend either of them this offseason unless there is a discount, otherwise you retain the cap flexibility for next offseason.

I am surprised you can type with your head stuck so far up your own ass, and your breath smelling like crap.

But hey, at least we are both surprised, right, right?
