http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-a-first-round-grade-from-advisory-committee/ As you know, Jake Locker is returning to Washington for his senior season‎. Todd McShay of ESPN had Locker projected as the No. 1 overall pick. However, Locker didn't receive a first-round grade from the NFL Advisory Committee, which estimates where a player might be drafted. I seen a couple of Washington's games this year and Locker looked averaged at best. His stats are not very good versus average Pac-10 defenses. Everybody has the right to thier opinion but McShay doesn't even have Ndamukong Suh as the number one overall player in this draft. What is up with that?
I don't think ANYONE other than apparently Todd McShay would think that Locker would even come close to the 1st pick. He would not have even been the top QB taken. Wow.
Jake Locker doesn't have a lot of help at Washington but he should still be better than he has. I am a big fan of Jimmy Clausen and I think he should be a good NFL QB. He started as a true freshman at Notre Dame and has gotten better every year. He played under Charlie Weis and a pro-style offense. I also think Sam Bradford will be a good NFL QB. I would even take Ryan Mallett over Locker if he came out.
Locker is physically gifted he has a great arm and runs at 4.4-4.5 40 yd dash. He's extremely athletic for a QB. I think he could have have been the 1st or 2nd QB taken. Only Jimmy Clausen might have been picked higher. I think Locker would have been at worst the 2nd QB taken.. Bradford falls behind because of his shoulder injury.
Locker might have been the first or second QB taken, McShay was probably just thinking that a QB would be taken #1 overall (Rams?). It's gonna be Suh though, he's about as sure as they come.
Locker would have been the first QB taken for sure. He's both naturally and physically gifted. It's not his fault that the rest of his teammates weren't very talented or experienced. This coming from a Husky hater.
Well, and this may be coming from a current Husky, but his physical ability is completely pro-ready. Incredible speed, tackle-breaking ability, and a rocket arm. I had my doubts about his ability at the next level, but just one year under Sarkisian and he's figured out how to throw a touch pass (in previous years he was just drilling wideouts with the ball). He WILL be an excellent pro, and a very high pick.
