http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2003/basketball/nba/12/02/bc.bkn.trailblazers.ran.ap/index.html That image sure is getting cleaned up. I can't wait until they sweep out the old criminals so they can groom new law-breakers in Woods, Wells and now Randolph.
Zach Randolph arrested for DWI The Blazers strike agaiin... http://www.nwcn.com/sports/stories/NW_120203STBzach_randolphJM.61dd6ae2.html Blazers' Randolph arrested for drunken driving 08:24 AM PST on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 From NWCN.com Staff Reports PORTLAND - Portland police say Trail Blazers Zach Randolph has been arrested for driving under the influence of intoxicants. Portland police spokeswoman Cheryl Robinson said Randolph, the latest in a string of Trail Blazers to have brushes with the law, was arrested early in the morning on Martin Luther King Boulevard and Prescott in North Portland A team spokesman did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press seeking comment.. According to Portland television station KGW, Randoph was seen at a charity event in Vancouver, Washington Monday night, collecting Christmas ornaments for needy families and signing basketballs . He was driving a Cadillac Escalade when he was pulled over for drunken driving. Lieutenant Mike Shults of the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office said Randolph was released from the county justice center at 5:15 a.m. Shults says Randolph is scheduled to appear in front of a judge at Multnomah County Circuit Court on December 30th. The Blazers have been plagued by a series of arrests and infighting in the past few seasons. Most recently, Bonzi Wells was stripped of his captaincy and suspended for two games after cursing at coach Maurice Cheeks. Player Damon Stoudamire, meanwhile, is facing drug charges for his arrest at an Arizona airport. But Randolph has been a bright spot for the Blazers this year, scoring 20 or more points nine times through the season's first 17 games. The Associated Press and KGW contributed to this report
When will Ashcroft run a 30 million dollar+ sting on the Trail Blazers and finally put an end to the most powerful crime syndicate of the Pacific Northwest.
Portland needs more "stand up" guys on their team. Houston trades: Meech + Mooch + Boki for Randolph + McInnis change in team outlook: -2.0 mantits, -1750 dribbles per game, -1.5 airballs per game, +12.8 punches per practice, +5.3 drug violations per year. trade accepted
This has to be a REAL stinger for the Blazers!! We all knew that Wells is gone this year and Wallace probably after this season. R. Patterson would be too but his contract is holding that up. This team is building their team around Randolph and now their MAIN building block is part of the problem and not the solution! tough break!
Steve Kerr played for JailBlazers for one season, I remember he said if there is one bad guy in your team, it is OK, every team may have one such person. But JailBlazers' problem is they have too many of them, almost 4-5 guys alike. But don't worry about them, the only thing Paul Allen doesn't lack is money, he has enough of them to build two or three franchise.
It isn't good for their image but 1 dui doesn't make the guy a thug. Not something to be proud of, but neither is it cause to call him a bad apple (of course, he might still be, what do I know?).
Francis got arrested for DUI, EG for Pot possesion...what is it they say about people in glass houses? DD
Wasn't Francis' case dismissed (of course, we don't know what will be the ultimate outcome of the Randolph case)? Eddie Griffin's probably not going to play another minute in a Rockets' uniform. I'm pretty sure if you want to start comparing the two teams and the quality of people their players are, the Blazers will easily lose out to the Rockets.
My blue heaven. DUI is pretty common, so I'll give him a break, but that being said, it is hilarious that he was their cornerstone and down he goes.

Owner Paul Allen vowed that the Trail Blazers would be a team that Portland could be proud of. And the team released a 25-point pledge to fans that included a promise to hold players "accountable for their actions both on and off the court." Let's see if they follow up their words with actions...

Zach punched Patterson in practice last year. That tells you that either one of those two guys is a punk, or both.
I'm willing to give Zach a break and accept that he was just drowning his sorrows over having to play with his current cast of characters.
