what do u think we get for KPJ? I have a hard time assessing his value around the league. The way he finished strong last year had to help his value but I’m sure teams are leery of the attitude. I’m also having a hard time believing Stone is ready to cut him loose. I’m old school so I don’t have much tolerance for diva attitudes and quitting on your team, but I wouldn’t trade KPJ for any less than a first round pick given how big a step he took this season.

I was thinking a first myself. The dude is super talented, he needs to find that balance between scorer and facilitator. I think Stone would at least try a 3 guard rotation before pulling the trigger on KPJ. Who knows? I can see Ivey but it's probably PB.

I’m not going to go over your entire post I just wanted to “What the **** are you talking about?” on this part. Have ever seen Jalen Green play basketball. He plays for the Rockets. I’m just going to assume you haven’t.

I honestly think the Jaden Ivey BS is trolling. Basically none of what they are saying is in any way based in reality. For me, that's a subtle hint that they aren't actually serious.

Green is also insanely athletic but his athleticism is a lot more fluid than pure speed like Ivey. It's like difference between football player and sprinter. Green can start and stop on a dime and dunk but Ivey can go in a straight line to the court at breakneck speed.

Im part of the Green gang I've watched him a ton.

I have no problem with Ivey and if Mobley had been the pick last year it’d be a more reasonable selection. I’d even take him currently if I thought he was a legitimately better prospect than any of the 3 bigs. But he isn’t. Rank your 3 bigs and take the highest one left.

You said Green doesn’t have “crazy burst and quickness.” Also some other nonsense about not being the face of a franchise.

I get you like Ivey but slow down.

Far more defensible statement at the time it was said than most of the craziness in this thread.

    Jalen Green doesn't have speed?
Ivey as a ball handler over KPJ?

    C'mon, that's just laughable.

Ivey does literally nothing better than either KPJ or Green. There's not even a case for it.

I'd have no problem with Ivey if the Rockets were in the market for an undersized SG with a weak handle and a mediocre shot.

That's basically the last thing they need though..... and if they were going to pick a guard at 3, I still wouldn't want it to be Ivey.

Did Mike Mayock call this one too? I keed I keed.

I wouldn't hate it. I watched him play a lot and I expect him to have success in the association.

Green doesnt have crazy burst and quickness. He doesnt remind people of John Wall in the same way Ant doesnt remind people of John Wall and D Rose. Nobdoy will say Ant isnt athletic but obv nobody will also say he is like JWall and Drose.

Green has not taken over the franchise like Cade. He is the Rox cornerstone and unarguably most valuable.player but he isnt the leader. The leader is actually C Wood.

Not really since Corey Brewer entered the league at age 22 and averaged 9 pts. He was also a junior, played a different position, and was known for his defense and scrappiness rather than his offensive prowess. He was top 7 and even that was considered a reach whereas Green was consensus top 3.

But anyway thats neither here nor there. I'm just saying you tend to have extreme takes on players you dont like. Theres a reason people are high on Ivey and it aint because he is a lesser version of KPJ.

Yeah, it really was, given that when it was said he was absolutely looking lost when it comes to pretty much everything....but he was quick and athletic. The comment was about what could happen if he didn't improve.

He improved, it was amazing to see.

As to "players I don't like", it's not a matter of me "liking them", it's a matter of what they bring to the table.

Ivey is a quick, athletic, ball dominant undersized SG with a weak handle and a mediocre shot. Now maybe one day he becomes more than that, but as of now, that's what he is.

Now there's certainly a reason he's considered one of the better prospects in this class, but there's also 3 superior prospects in this class.

Perhaps some people just get off on highly athletic guards.....and I don't want to kink shame, but the Rockets already have 2 of them that are bigger and more talented across the board. That means even if someone convinced themselves that Ivey really was a top 3 player, there's still absolutely no reason to consider Ivey since he'd be forever stuck behind the 2 better guards.

He's not more explosive than Jalen Green, he doesn't have KPJ's handles or playmaking ability, he can't shoot as well as either, he can't play defense as well as KPJ, he's smaller than either.

Now perhaps if the Rockets didn't have KPJ or Green, then the conversation would be worth having, but since they do, it's why I considered the Ivey BS to be light hearted trolling until recently.

That's correct. That is an educated guess, but I have to warn that it is just a guess. That's the vibe I've had since just after the trade deadline.

I feel confident in saying that they think he has the highest ceiling.

Offensively, yes. But who's guarding opposing 3s? Where's the length? Where's the rebounding?

Im expecting rebounding more from the players as a whole.

Porter jr has improved rebounding numbers each and every season.
This past year was 4.4 rebounds per game as PG.....Middleton
was 5.4 rebounds per game for Milwaukee.

Milwaukee was the 3rd best rebounding team in the NBA. Houston was 18th.
J Tate also had 5.4 rebounds per game. So as Milwaukee, rebounding
also comes with upgrading at PF/Center production. Giannis/Bobby Portis
    make up rebounds for Middleton?

Can Ivey solid frame help corral a few more rebounds?
Jalen Green adding muscle get us a few more rebounds?
Garuba playing more add a few more rebounds?
Can Sengun get more rebounds? My wish is for a more mobile Center.
Will we pick up Mark Williams? Tari Eason? Kessler?
    FA pick up?

*side note: 76ers worst rebounding team....Miami & Dallas made
us look great at rebounding. Cavs were great with Markkanen, Mobley, J Allen
and ranked 1 notch ahead of us at #17 (both of us tied at 51.8 rebs/game)
