It's obvious that Atlanta is having a fire sale. So, why don't we see if they'd be interested in Padgett? After all, Padgett's contract is one year shorter than Jackson's. Or, maybe they'd give him to us for a future 2nd round pick? That way, they dump all of his salary now. We could do it with the trade exception, right?

Yes, I am being sarcastic. I think it's a shame to see team management decide to scrap a season, while still charging the fans for full ticket prices.

Anyway, back to the trade. Jackson is a 6'8" SF with a nice shooting touch. Could he help us?

How much is he making? And why didn't San Antonio keep him? There's got to be a good reason. Championship teams don't usually let good young players go.

    But yeah I like him.

If I'm not mistaken, Jackson signed a pretty low deal (like a million a season) ... he could could opt out of that deal for more money this offseason, which he may do since he's averaging over 14 a night. I can't see Atlanta dumping him for an expiring contract when he may opt out anyhow - they simply wouldn't clear much room even if he didn't opt out.

SA tried to keep him. hell, they offered something like 3.5 mil/year for 3 years. but being the arrogant person he is, he thought he could get more on the FA market. apparently, the rest of the league didn't agree. now he's playing for the minimum.

He could be the perfect fit for us at the Small Forward Position. At present we have Guards playing this position, Jackson would fill this gap.One difficulty we would have Jackson 1 Jackson 2 and Jackson 3 !! SA didnt want to pay him, he is a player that occasionally makes stupid mistakes, he should fit right away!

Man, Atlanta got Doleac and that other crappy center Prybzilla (whatever the hell his name is) from the Bucks. Man, they are definitely trying to start over.

Has there been a team with three players that have the same last name?

Why would we get Jackson? We have enough shooters anyways. Mobley, Jackson, Taylor, Francis. Trading Padgett for him would be good, but Padgett is like 5 levels below Jackson. We don't need scorers. I don't care how little of points we score, we are 18th in the league in FG% and they will all start shooting well come playoff time. They're too good not too. EVERY one of them is known as a shooter.

The guy can score, but he is Mr. Turnover. That's the main reason SA didn't keep him.
