    Marc Jackson???

Very nice signing - very nice! I guess some people forget tht he was almost ROOKIE OF THE YEAR. My point is not that he almost won some silly award - it's that he's a ROOKIE!!! Why do people expect him to achieve like he's a 9 year veteran?? Why do you ask that of him?? He's played at the NBA level for ONE FREAKING YEAR!!!!

    " He can't rebound! " - WRONG!!

    " He can't play defense! " - WRONG!

    " He can't block shots! " - Wr...Wr...Yeah, ok!!!

" He has a bad work ethic! " - VERY WRONG!

    " He's overweight! " - WRONG!!! He's over our weight - he's 2-freaking-70!!!

We get the exception, sign a big man, fill a need, and get a guy WHO WANTS TO BE IN HOUSTON!! He wants to play for US!! Yet, for some reason, people say he had a few good games and he's worthless - lets sign SHAWNELLE SCOTT!! VOMIT!!!

Go to ESPN.com, look at Marc's stats, check them out over 48 minutes! Also, look at his numbers in Dec-Jan!! WOW!!! Who else put up those numbers for us? He started to perform the moment he became a starter.

He works hard!! Don't let anyone in the NG tell you different. I'm telling you as a fact! He wants success!! He wants - He wants - I like people who want better things!

Keep your fingers crossed and hope that Marc Jackson is indeed a ROCKET! We will be a better team with him than without him...period! Is he the best 5 in the league?? Come on...is he our best 5???? Uhh...yeah!!

    AMEN!

MJ is just the opposite of Cato. He may not be the most tallented player in the world but he works his ass off and produces.

Cato should be an all star caliber player but just does not have the work ethic or desire.

MJ would have won ROY if he did not get hurt. I'll take MJ any day or at least until he proves me wrong. Until then he has earned his chance.

    Doc,

Do you know what we are offering Golden State to keep them from matching our offer?

    Opening Night Lineup

    Jackson
    Griffin
    Rice
    Mobley
    Francis

Talent wise I will put that lineup against any team in the NBA.

Doc Rock is hyper, I like it! Man please let him be a Rocket, he would push us over the top and into the playoffs. Maybe if Cato shows some fire, we could have a frontcourt with a two 6-10 guys. Cato shows he can rebound. Cato could take care of the shotblocking, while Jackson gets aggressive in the point, grabs some boards, and gives us a low post threat. Griffin isn't going to start at PF. I'm pretty sure our starting frontline will be Cato, Jackson and Rice. If Cato gives us 6 to 8 points, 7 rebounds and about 2 bpg, then we're fine. Griffin gives us depth off the bench and a future star.

    "Jackson
    Griffin
    Rice
    Mobley
    Francis "

Starting 5 is not better than
    Grant Hill
    Tracy McGrady
    Mike Miller
    Horace Grant
    Patrick Ewing
    6th:Darral Armstrong

OMG I thought I was going to bust a gut laughing when I read your post. Damn your funny!

Francis is better than a hobbled up Hill any day
McGrady is marginally better than Mobes
Rice is much better than Miller
Grant and Ewing or very much washed up. You won't get 10 boards or 10 points a game between them.

And I about did the same when reading your post.

Grant Hill is one of the top 5 players in the NBA when healthy - and all indications are that he is fully healthy. Francis can't touch him.

To say McGrady is marginally better than Mobley is ridiculous. Mcgraday is one of the top 3, if not the top SG in the lkeague. Mobley barely cracks the top 10, if he does at all. He's good, but nowhere near that level.

Miller could run loops all over a hobbled Rice anyday. Forget past performance and look at the future.

Grant and Ewing will do what is asked of them and both are in the best shape in many years. To say 10/10 can't be expected from both of them is ridiculous. 15/15 is more likely.

    Marginally better? Yeah sure.

Jackson will prove naysayers wrong, no doubt about it.

    Yell at 'em DOC!

What is Golden State's reaction to 6 years 24 mill?

So Doc, how is Mo's achilles?

We've heard about Jackson, now tell us about how great Kelvin will be. :)

How much has Hill played in the last two years? Not much. I think he needs to prove he is over his injury and that he has not lost any skill like little penny did. And you think Steve cant play Hill? Have you seen Steve play against Kidd and Payton? He has had some pretty good games against those two and I am suppose to beleive he can't keep up with some guy that has barely touched an NBA court in two years? Please! Hill had better hope someone else guards Steve!

Miller is a shooter and not much of a defender. Advantage Rice! Rice is a better shooter to.

No way Ewing and Grant will be able to do what is asked of them while they are sucking on O2 and pushing their walkers.

I think Orlando is capable of winning the East. But I would take Rice over Miller. Granted Miller was ROY, but there is no way he would run circles around Rice! He's good but not that good! Not yet anyway. As for forgetting past performances and looking to the future, I think Rice is going to have a big year and be a go-to guy, Miller is going to the bench behind McGrady and Hill.

I'm glad you aren't the coach. Not to dis on my boys, but only 2 of those guys have played in a real NBA game together, one is a rookie, one is just entering his second year, already with a new team, and the last guy is playing with a history of foot problems. I'd give them a little experience before throwing them out there on opening night.

That last quote comes from the same bunch of people who think Hakkem could still dominate? Sorry guys, as much as I like the Rocks and Hakeem, he's only marginally better than Ewing right now.

Rice is a shooter, pure and simple. That's all he's able to do nowadays with his foot. Miller is a shooter who can take it to the post now, something you won't see with Rice. In the past, Rice was a better player, but injuries have brought his game down to a level on par with Miller's. Especially since Miller will probably start alongside McGrady and Hill.

But anyways, this is a Marc Jackson thread. He will be a great addition to the Rocks and a LOT better than Cato.

That is very large margin between McGrady and Cuttino.

As much as I love Cuttino and say his potential is WAAAAAAYYYYYY underrated...and always has been....

imo...McGrady is the #1 backcourt player in the game. Kobe, Iverson and Carter are not it! I cannot compare Cuttino to McGrady.

    HAHAHAH!!!

Who the hell said McGrady is only marginally better than Mobley?! WHAT A MORON. God, get off this board you clown. McGrady is a top superstar in this league behind only Carter, Kobe and Shaq.

Hill sucks now... sorry Magic fans.

Marc Jackson sucks and put up his "great" numbers on a really ****ty team. Sorry guys, the optimism is not there. I'd also take Mike Miller over Glen Rice anyday. Glen might be better but he's also oft-injured and his wife is a cancer behind the scenes.
