    [IMG][IMG]

If holiday shopping has left you with nothing in your pocket but lint and a few fuzzy breath mints – don't panic! Jack is here to help you weather your cash crisis. Today, Jack in the Box® restaurants introduce the Big Deal, a bundled, value-priced combo meal that offers the choice of a chicken sandwich or cheeseburger, plus two tacos and a 20-ounce soft drink for the bargain-basement price of ... are you ready for this ... $2.69!

"Following the spending frenzy of the holidays, many consumers have to tighten the purse strings in January," said Teka O'Rourke, director of menu marketing and promotions for Jack in the Box Inc. "Our Big Deal offers a variety of flavorful, filling menu items at an affordable price, so guests don't have to sacrifice taste and satisfaction for cost."

The Big Deal is available for the suggested price, excluding tax, of $2.69 at all participating Jack in the Box restaurants for a limited time.

Not a big fan of their Honey BBQ Chicken Strip sandwich, seemed kinda dry to me. That A1 Thick and Hearty burger is awesome though, a heart attack in a bun, but delicious.

Actually, that stuff individually probably runs you like $3.25, so there's only a $0.50 net cost savings.

Basically, the deal is $0.72 for the 20 oz drink, since the other two items are on their $0.99. IMO, if you're REALLY on a budget, you might as well just get water instead, and buy 12-packs from a grocery store for your soda fix.

At least, that's would be my line of reasoning if I were still in college. :)

What is the price regularly? I thought the point of this thread was eating on teh cheap and while I love whataburger, their food, as far as fast food goes, is on the pricey side.

fat chance, one whopper alone is like over 2 dollars now. I miss the days of 99 cent whoppers. Now 99 cents gets you a crappy processed chicken sandwhich. Hell, it costs a dollar to get a whopper jr.

i've always found it humorous that adding fries/chips and/or a drink to a sandwich makes it a "meal".

Well, both can really put out the hunger in your body. A huge rush of simple carb can really make you feel full. I know it doesn't last long, but that's why people eat so much afternoon snacks.
