Finally - they shoulda done something like this from the start. A sit down bar you can eat & get hammered in during the games. When does it officially open? Also, Fox Sports grill messed up when they established themselves in the Galleria III. No one goes there at all. They shoulda followed thei Staples Center model & thrown one into the TC...
I agree..I've been by that place and can't imagine spending any time there. Too nice to just go chill with friends...and i'm not taking my wife for a nice dinner to the freaking Fox Sports Grill . It's way too "dressed up" for my tastes for a sports bar. And with you on the location. It should do well with out of towners staying in the Galleria area, though.
Just for the record, the Fox Bar in Staples is not the same as Fox Sports Grill which is more of a dinner place. It's mostly just burgers, appetizers, and beers at Staples
I like the Fox Sports Grill. I like the couches in the bar area, and the food is awesome. My GF likes the food so its an easy way to get her to go out and watch the Rockets game w/me. Who really cares if its in Galleria III. Its not like its hard to find, you can see it from Westhiemer. But I do think a bar in the TC would be nice. The club level bars are nice, but it sucks that you can't get in unless you eat at Red and White or have the tickets to get low.
I believe the soft opening is this Friday (although it might be the Lakers game). The official grand opening will be mid Feb.
Maybe I'm the only one who thinks that it is a bad idea to have hard liquor sponsoring bars in arenas. People get drunk and act stupid enough without the influence of that. Maybe they could open an icehouse near the arena...oh, wait, they already have that.
one cool part about the new Old No. 7 Club - the outdoor seating area - especially as we get warmer and warmer weather. I am pretty sure the bar will stay open after games as long as there are patrons . . . not sure if that's every night or just later in the week.
An outdoor seating area? Nice! That way I can go outside at halftime & not have to smell like I smoked 5 packs of Lucky Strikes...
