I dunno if it's the extra year or the personalities but Jalen and Sengun definitely seem closer than Bari and Sengun do, I'm sure they'll grow closer with time and the chemistry will improve also.
Yeah but you're saying bc Jabari may have been upset it's a red flag, like every player doesn't get frustrated for not playing well. SOF constantly project stupid crap on other Rockets BUT make excuses for Sengun. Do you know how many times Sengun's body language looked poor?
Could it be that time when Jabari screamed at Silas to bench Sengun in the middle of a game, while missing his own rotations and playing soft in general?
If y'all b****ing at each other is linked somehow (chaos theory?) to our win streak, please keep it up.
He should have made a qualification: "Exception Christopher Only Fans and Boban Only Fans. They are lovely."
So even though I’ve been very critical of Jabari, I’m going to disagree here semantically. For me, the “bust” threshold is if a player is unable to play at a level that merits significant minutes. If ultimately Jabari’s minutes are only the result of needing to give a legit player a breather (ie he’s just a warm body), then we can say he’s a bust. EDIT - if Jabari’s play suggests he doesn’t deserve any minutes, then he’s not a bust - he’s a Nix. But if at the very minimum Jabari is a player who can consistently stretch the floor for his teammates with his shooting, defend the perimeter and in general play smart basketball, that has real value and makes him not a bust. Right now, that’s what his successful moments on the court indicate - a guy who can spread the floor, play good perimeter D and eventually play smart. Otherwise, he hasn’t displayed the coordination that typically define superstar players and is almost always evident from day one. He will likely be a player who has to be set up by others in very specific spots in order to score. Giving him touches outside of these specific spots or worse, giving him the ball and asking him to create something in the hope that he fundamentally evolves as a player is more likely going to lead to wasted possession. In this “Phase 2”-Udoka era, this team isn’t going to waste possessions on such long odds. But all this still doesn’t make Jabari a bust. Was he the best player at 3? Probably not. Will he be a superstar? Probably not. But will he become nothing more than a warm body? I don’t think so and certainly don’t hope so.
I can live with that, Sengun brings so much value when he is on the floor. When Jabari starts living up to his potential I'll shut up about him. Jabari was our 3rd overall pick, it's natural to expect more from him
Even Jalen & Jabari don't look close. Tari & Bari are tight though. It must be a draft class thing. Tyty was also cool with Tari & Bari. Josh Christopher was cool with Jalen & Sengun
This level of consternation over a 20 year old player less that 10 games into his 2nd season is at best premature, at worst intentionally asinine. But the Rockets don't play again until Friday so keep the entertainment coming.
Folks need to realize that Smith literally got fked over by silas in his rookie season. Man literally threw the rookie unto the court and said just do whatever cause it won't matter since kpj is dictating the offense
