Jabari should start instead of Amen for the rest of the series

just shoot? Amen has turned it over almost everytime

Either way blow it up this offseason, too many fundamental issues. Miss harden + scrubs lineup..never thought I'd say that.

 

I never liked us starting Amen Thompson over Jabari. I think he should come off the bench until he can improve his shooting percentages.

 

I don't need to see Amen taking 16 shots in a playoff game ever again.

 

Finally, the fever breaks! Amen is fool's gold. His ceiling is Shawn Marion. He is not some untouchable guy who should automatically get minutes over Cam and Reed.

 

I don't know why rockets fans were pretending like Amen could be a franchise player. His skillset is in the 1980's. Amen is almost unplayable.

 

There are a few adjustments that Ime needs to make but it’s not looking like he is going to do anything different.

Jalen cost us the first game but saved us the second.
Sengun has been solid more or less in the first two games, but played soft tonight.
Only Amen seems struggling all three games, his lack of shooting ability is really weighing on the team.

 

What about the 3rd game.....

 

They all played poorly. Team loss, lesson learned.

 

Amen has not been good all 3 games and somehow no ones talking about it.

His defense is amazing but hes been a straight liability out there on offense. Even when he gets the looks that are good for him, hes not converting. Hes also been sloppy and a bit turnover prone.

Jabari has looked much better imo

 

I talked about it in this thread. Actually, I think his defense is also not as amazing as it was in the regular season.

 

A good GM would make that point to Ime.

We're talking about Curry and a system that has been in place for 11 seasons.

 

Amen's inability to shoot isn't the problem. It's his inability to do anything right on offense. I guess the pressure of the series has really whacked his confidence.

I'm fine with starting Jabari in game 4. Ime must make some changes and that would be a good start.

 

Actually, Amen is starting to lack confidence. He had opportunities to attack the lane but he missed to many shots he became hesitant and deferred. The strange thing is, he hesitates on driving into the lane but decides to take contested 2's which is the WORST possible decision to make.

GSW are purposefully giving him room around the midpoint and rather than attacking into the lane he is playing right into their goal of taking midis. At least if he attacks into a crowded lane he has ability to get a foul. But he takes the shot which also takes away his ability to contest for rebound.

It's a complete head scratcher what he's doing and the worse thing is Ime is not using Jabari more, who is clearly more effective in the current series.

Aren't the splits pretty bad with this starting line up that include Amen compared to the one with Jabari to start the year? We used to be an awesome first quarter team until Jabari got hurt.

 

Ime has an unbelievably long leash when it comes to Fred and Amen. The Rockets won something like 10 or 11 straight with Tari as a starter after the All-Star Break, but once both Fred and Amen were healthy again, Ime went right back to the starting lineup he'd been using post-Jabari injury.
