considering most of his value comes from his shooting, even if he shoots MARGINALLY better it would have done wonders for his perception. but he threw up ugly bricks for 80% of the year. signs of life near the end. I think he's top 5 in re-draft.
Subjective random redrafts and the subsequent fan outrage is what drives engagement in the social media era. The all rookie teams speak for themselves.
this is like lebron got injured in training camp and was out for the year with a surgery but won the MVP lol.
Jabari Smith isn't even 20 years old yet.... He overall did not play great - but he played well the last two months of the season and actually his overall numbers wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for an atrocious January and February, where he seemed really gassed and had some issues outside of basketball. He was 15/8 after the all star break and finished a lot better under the rim. I don't get knocking him down to 10th. I also oddly don't think his upside is any different than I did when the Rockets drafted him. I also don't see how a player that was an injury risk - misses the entire season is above him.
Even with his horrible start he shot better than everyone’s god, Paolo. Paolo averages more PPG and assists and played piss poor defense. I would select Jabari 1st in a re-draft. We are very fortunate he dropped to us. You guys will see with 15-20 lbs more muscle and a real coach.
This post atm is nothing more than a wishful thinking. Murray is already an elite 3pt shooter while Jabari might get better down the line because he is young, he is objectively bad at basketball. Like watching him on the court is a painful experience on its own. Until he shows that he is, he isn't.
Doesn’t matter how he does in year 1 or even 2-3. Ultimately you won’t know if you drafted the right guy for a couple years. Players develop at different paces. Injuries, team construction, systems, etc all play a role in how quickly a player blossoms. I’m confident Jabari will wind up top 5 of his draft class, at worst.
When did you stop watching him on the floor? The last quarter of the season, he was really good. 38% from 3 and extremely aggressive on both sides of the ball. Rookies have a tough time adjusting to the speed and strength of the NBA.
Besides a few half A$$ compliments to Sengun the only one on the team you're not always hating on is your HEAD head case. Best moves of the offseason would be moving that dude and you following him to another team's fan base. Go Rox!
The last quarter of the season the first 1/128 of the season... i don't really give a damn tbh. I remember Jalen closing his rookie season very strong but he couldn't carry his performance into his sophomore season. Consistency is the most important element of any sports and it's super rare to find in athletes. I need to see more from him to be overly optimistic. Right now the image of Jabari on my mind is this: He's a young kid who is either too raw or simply bad at basketball. Even the worst players can have good 10-15 games so i'm not really buying that argument. Yes he occasionally looks like he's 3rd pick overall (his midrange) but more often than not looks like he is a late first round pick. Nobody can confidently tell if his ceiling is Klay or Ariza atm. If i can't tell if his ceiling is a role player or future all star then it only means that he's not consistent enough which i'm not too bothered btw. What bothers me most is that i don't enjoy watching him. That we might have drafted a limited player with the 3rd overall pick. I'm really curious about his future more than anything.
I think it would be interesting.... to everyone's surprise I think he will get better at finishing and not that much at shooting.
**** if his shooting from behind the arc isn't getting better i might off myself that's the worst outcome. He already can't do much and he can't shoot? Hope you are wrong.
