It's a given that any team coached by Phil is going to be helped by injury to either the team he's playing or another team that could have disrupted their run, while his team remains relatively healthy.

I will give Phil this, He knows the value of resting his key players extended minutes.

    what?

injuries can happen at any time

jr smith hurt himself as he was hip check and had his legs taken out underneath him by fisher as the buzzer sounded last night.

that had nothing to do with him playing extended minutes.

Yeah, it was a ****ty play. The Laker(either Fisher or Ariza) just randomly chop blocked Smith. He didn't even look like he was going for/had a chance at the ball.

Is there any way to see that last play again? I wanted to see a replay last night, but they wouldn't show it. All I could see is someone slide/dove/flew underneath JR Smith, couldn't tell if that person was pushed or just tripped over himself. But that messed up Smith pretty bad.

It looked like Birdman barreled into Ariza trying to get the rebound which in turn led to Ariza hitting the deck taking out JR's legs. Bad break.

I think, based on the way it looked, that Smith is lucky he didn't tear anything. He landed pretty awkwardly on his knee, and then it twisted. Either way, without Smith, that really takes away a big scoring threat for the Nuggets. It's unbelievable how the Lakers keep getting these breaks.....makes you wonder if Basketball Gods really exist.

JR has a strained calf and says he'll play.

    K-Mart has a broken finger.

Wasn't Brown hip checked by Kleiza badly to stop fastbreak and got no reward? Move on.

he can't shoot, and doesn't need a finger to dunk. Kobe dislocated his finger in the game and nobody gives a damn.

Bryant also dislocated his right ring finger again early in the fourth quarter. "Tried to go without tape tonight," he said. "Just got caught with the ball, popped it out, popped it right back in place. Went to the bench, taped it up. Good to go."

if you are talking about the same play i am thinking of that was more of Brown flopping to sell the call and him putting his arm in an awkward position to brace his fall.

Kleiza bumped him but not with enough force/contact to force him to fall down.

and yes Kleiza was called for a foul on that play too.

so I have no idea what you are talking about with the "no reward"

Are you kidding me? Brown had a 2 on 1 fastbreak one if he'd got past Kleiza. Instead, it's a non shooting foul and Nuggets not in penalty. They didn't eventually get into penalty that quarter either. So what's the point for Brown to flop?

Brown not being the smartest player in the league? its just natural instinct of these players to always sell a call? not getting into the penalty has nothing to do with that foul. had the foul not been called the 2 on 1 could not have resulted in a basket...if the lakers got the nuggets in the penalty then the brown foul would have helped.

Kleiza made the right play in commiting a touch foul to stop a break when there was a defender back.

Brown could have kept going and maybe nothing would have called but he didnt.

so you may want to ask yourself or Brown why he did flop on that play.

You're just being blinded by your hate for the Lakers. He was bumped hard enough to fall, as he was going pretty quickly in one direction and Kleiza, who is a big body, hip checked him going the other way. It wasn't a flop.

How does your claiming that Brown is not the smartest player in the league lead to the conclusion that he flops?

Additionally, I don't believe that the Lakers undercut Smith on purpose. They were all going for the ball and they got tangled up. It happens. I'd be interested to hear Nuggets4's reaction to the game though, it's always quite objective.
