I think iverson is the most selfish player in the leugue. Okay, sometimes he has a very good night, and get at least 35 points. But when he play's bad (and that very often this season) he'll whill shoot at least 30 times, even if he makes just 7 of them. I would think, give the other players a change. I just can stand that little ass!! Say what you think of him!!!

Ps: He's has a lot of steals, but that's it.

I totally agree. I think Iverson is a ball hog and the most overrated player in the NBA. He is shooting 39.7% from the field this season . No wonder why the Sixers offense is the 3rd worst in the NBA, because he's shooting 27+ shots per game, and averaging just 10.9 fg per game. 39.7% is aweful!

Who else do you want to shoot on the Sixers? Eric Snow? Dikembe "Slow-Motion" Mutombo? Matt Harpring?

Iverson does what his team needs of him (GASP! They went to the finals last year with the exact same strategy). Put him on the Lakers with a healthy Shaq and you bet he'd be shooting less. Iverson is the only player short of Hakeem in the last 10+ years to singlehandedly take his team to a Finals. Plus, he's the reigning MVP of the league. And while he often displays a punk attitude, its a hard-working, all-out, try to win some games punk attitude, be it selfish or not. So give him a few more years of "sucking," if you really think he is, before disregarding him for good.

Iverson is the reigning MVP.

You argument that when he plays bad, he shoots 30 shots. Well, he shoots a bunch every night........just because he has an off night doesn't mean the kid sucks.

Iverson is a fantastic player, especially for his diminutive size.

Anybody who can get Eric Snow, Tyrone Hill, George Lynch and Roger Bell meaningful minutes in an NBA finals is awefully impressive to me.

I believe his name was/is Raja Bell, not Roger :D

According to NBA.com, there are currently no NBA players named Roger.

People are funny when they give credit to Iverson leading the Sixers to the Finals last year.

Was it Philly's 90 PPG that took them to the Finals? No...

I believe it was their tough nosed defense that took them there. And guess who was Philly's worst man-to-man defender? Iverson...

He's a good player, but he is highly overrated. He's a rich man's version of Stackhouse, another player I could do without.

There's a lot of quality players that you could have replaced Iverson with and I dont think they would have gotten to the Finals. But without a time machine and the ability to pick and choose players for certain teams we'll never know!

He got his team to the finals and gave the Lakers fits. I think he's got my respect.

Anyone who says Iverson is overrated or didn't carry the 76ers on his back last year knows nothing about basketball.

You do realize there are "one year wonders" right? Iverson's punk ass aint leading no one to the Finals this year. They are like the Patriots. Nothing but one year wonders.

It is because AI can score with offensive crap players around him that allows Phily to play those hard nosed defensive players like Snow, Hill, Lynch and Rasta Bell :D

Without AI, Phily would be like that hard nosed defensive team in Golden State 3-4 years ago that won about 40% of their games.

The rest of ya'll folks not recognizing AI is one of the best players in the NBA seem a lot like that kid in the Who song if you take way his pinball playing ability.

Yeah, Iverson is so one dimensional and a complete ball hog. Uh, and he sucks too! For example, look at this line from the last game he played (Monday):

Field goal % .524
Free Throw % .833
Points 27
Offensive Rebounds 3
Defensive Rebounds 6
Assists (what a ball hog) 8
Steals 4

Yeah, yeah, he sucks!

Can you honestly deny Iverson's talent, leadership, and ability to dominate?

Oh, and he leads the league in steals per and total steals......how can it be said that he's a poor defender?

Ranks #1 in the NBA in Points Per Game(30.2)
Ranks #1 in the NBA in Steals Per Game(2.68)
Ranks #1 in the NBA in Minutes Per Game(43.8)

Ranks #1 in the NBA in Steals(118.0)
Ranks #3 in the NBA in Points(1329.0)

I don't believe that Iverson carried the Sixers to the finals. It is their defense that has carried them. Their offense is horrible (3rd worst in the NBA), but they are a great defensive team. Iverson is probably their worst defender. And considering the East sucks, they would've lost in the first round if they were in the West. HayesStreet:
So what he had one good game. His bad games out number his good games.
Vs NY: 15 pts, 6-25 shooting
VS Miami: 25 pts, 8-30 shooting, 2 assists, 7 TO
VS Dallas: 18 pts, 7-28 shooting
VS Detroit: 26 pts, 7-31 shooting
VS Utah: 21 pts, 7-21 shooting
And those are just to name a few!

Yeah, yeah...Iverson is such a ballhog. Let's compare him to some of the other shooting guards in the league...

Iverson 5.5 assists per game
Tracy McGrady 5.0 apg
Rip Hamilton 2.8 apg
Kobe 5.8 apg
Jordan 5.4 apg
Stackhouse 5.1 apg
Allan Houston 2.2 apg
Stojakovic 2.5 apg
Jason Terry 4.8 apg
Reggie Miller 3.2 apg
Eddie Jones 3.0 apg
Ray Allen 4.1 apg
Kerry Kittles 2.7 apg
Michael Finley 3.6 apg
Doug Christie 4.0 apg
Vince Carter 4.3 apg
Cuttino Mobley 2.8 apg
Penny Hardaway 4.6 apg
Wally Szczerbiak 3.2 apg

Notice how only Kobe has more assists? And he's got Shaq to throw it into down low.
