There are too many hate posts lately, especially on McGrady. At a time like this, the fans shouldn't be arguing, they should be cheering.

There are flaws in our team, and our players no doubt about that. There are flaws in Mcgrady, alston, scola and tons of other players. But we have to accept that the Rockets are Rockets right now, without Yao we are a weak contender.

Remember our expectations before Yao's injury? Tons of Rocket fans expected the Rockets to be hanging around .500. Instead, we started going on a 12 game win streak. Then do you guys remember when Yao went down with the season ending injury? Everyone thought we're out of the playoff pictures, even the rocket fans.

Now, we're in the playoffs. No only that we have the fourth best record in the west, playing in the toughest division in the west. Our expectations sudden rose from out of playoffs to being in the second round! We rocket fans forgot that we have accomplished too many this season to be angry right now. We have accompished too many this season to even think about trading McGrady or Yao.

Leave the trade threads until after the next season. Let the playoffs continue, and leave the hating later. I want Toyota centre to be loud, and I don't want the Jazz fans to have the satisfaction of watching us rockets fans cussing each other.

Hilarious. You're first response was filled with everything you were criticizing, definitely not excluding the poster's massive T-Mac-hating signature.

I think you send a good message with this thread but it is a tall order to expect everybody to have the same attitude as you.

Yea, I know what you're saying...

Wait, no I don't. Let me bust out my Chinese translator real quick.

Oh... okay, got it. You're saying "T-Mac, take it to the rack and make your gosh darn free throws!"

    I agree.

Very much support. If I were the owner of the Rockets. Is a superstar could not even bear the responsibility?

Clyde: "And things are only getting worse for this thread..."

Seriously, though, the guy who created this thread is trying to get away from all the hating. There are plenty of other threads for you to do your T-Mac bashing in.

I understand fully you're saying, I'm half Hong Kongnese myself.

Honestly, I'm not putting race issue here, but many Chinese fans in clutch.com are true rocket fans. I mean many chinese fans love Yao Ming here but yet none of them posted nonsense crap. Instead, like this post the man is happy with the rocket's accomplishment.

I'm happy with the accompishment as well. I don't care what people say, but the fans will never be satisfied.

Let me ask you all a question.
Would you rather have had McGrady and the Rockets give up this season?
Or would you rather have had McGrady and the rockets continue to fight so they could prove the haters wrong.

Our standards before our 22 game win streak and Yao going down with an injury is low, very low. We were expected to miss the playoffs. Now, we're in the playoffs, and the rockets have the fourth best record and the best second half season record. And our expectations of a Yaoless rockets sky rocketed (ironically) to a championship caliber team that could beat any healthy team.

We're may be down 3-1. But its not over till its over. Can't rocket fans just drop all the t-mac hate/trade threads until playoffs are over. The atlanta hawks tied with the boston celtics yestaday, why can't we beat the Jazz?

All I want is for any t-mac haters or alston haters to keep their mouth shut until the playoffs are over. The Jazz fans are laughing at us, we're mocking our own team....

What do you mean by "hate"?

If you mean posting inane childish comments (like the moronic signature of the guy at the top of the thread), then I'm with you 110%.

But if you're saying we shouldn't be allowed to constructively critique our own players, that's bs. We as fans have every right to do that. Just like you have every right to disagree with that criticism.

I mean hate as in something from the pages of Copter. I mean hate as in posting trade threads on t-mac when the series hasn't even ended yet. i mean hate as in posting nonsense threads like "T-mac opened a can of quit" when all it is a place for hates to be dump.

I certainly mean hate as in giving up on the rockets and telling other rocket fans we have no chance against the Jazz.

Of course I love "constructive" criticism. Like "mcgrady should just play the game". But when fans mock our own players, we're a laughing stock to other team.

I bet Jazz fans love watching our own civil war. The Jazz don't even need to troll our forum, they only need to watch because what they want to say has already been said by our very own fans........

Been cheering since I've been a Rockets fan. Cheering for every playoff game in the past.

Hard for me to do it these days because our best player makes escuses for why he isn't playing well. Had he said, "I played as hard as I could and we couldn't get it done", I would have been fine and cheered for them to the end. McGrady putting this off on everyone and making excuses has completely soured me on this year's playoffs.

Our best player has the wrong mentality for the playoffs. Past having the wrong mentality, he isn't playing well when it matters the most and when he should be leading the team because he is our best player.

I absolutely hate how people on this board try to tell others how, "You're not a true fan if YOU don't feel the way I feel about the team!". You mf'ers can go jump off a boat because I love the Rockets as much as anyone on this board. I don't post all day like some of the posters people call the Vets or what not, but I'm here every day whether the Rockets are winning or not.

I love the Rockets and see the faults and it makes it incredibly difficult to cheer this year. You can't understand that? Fine. I'm not telling you how the hell to act don't tell me.

That wasn't aimed at me right?

I know our best player isn't having the best mentality right now, but you really don't think Mcgrady would say "I played as hard as I could and we couldn't get it done" do you? Cause that would draw so much criticism that clutch bbs would explode. And it also shows that no matter what the rockets do, they can't win.

I believe the Rockets still have a chance. But watching our own civil war is just..... painful to see. We have our backs on the wall and we're still arguing with each other. I think I'm gonna take a break from this forum when it comes to the offseasons....

No, that was not directed towards you. It was really a culmination from most of the threads on the first and second page trying to tell everyone how THEY should feel about McGrady's play, the Rockets' postseason etc. I just vented in your thread. Sorry for any confusion.

The problem with McGrady's quotes is that is just isn't good for team chemistry. If you feel that way, you vent that in a team meeting which I'm sure they have plenty of. Anywhere but the media. His quotes just breed hostility and distrust from not only his own fan's, but now his own teammates.

Perhaps not now, but if he continues speaking in the manner he does, someone eventually will say something back to him (perhaps regarding his shooting %, 4th quarter scoring, free throw shooting, etc take your pick) and it will be seen as a rift in the team to the media that will report it as such. He just can not talk as he is.

Regarding how the BBS is now, I can see you are a bit new here since you joined early this year and haven't been around. Let me tell you this:

I felt the same way you did when I first joined the BBS. Expecting an informed board filled with informed posters. What it is is more or less an informed board with informed posters that post with their emotions and attack each other more times than not because they don't have the same opinion. Thus, my post about people telling others how to feel etc. It shocked me how hostile and negative the board is and I just got used to it and avoid it after we lose as much as possible. (Which incidentally I can't do very much at all. Lol)

Try to take a break. It will do wonders. You'll come back refreshed and hopefully the hostility and negativity has died down and the intelligent discussions have returned.

In summary, I know exactly how you feel man. I still love the BBS though.

flamingdts, I get what you're saying - sort of.

No one wants to see a bunch of posts saying "T-MAC IS A POO POO FACE!!!!!!!!1111", but at the same time, I don't think there's anything wrong with posts that are legitimately calling out his play/attitude/heart etc. You yourself just admitted that he doesn't have the right mentality.

We as fans are extremely frustrated right now, and rightfully so. We haven't been out of the 1st round in a decade. That means we have been a complete non-factor in the West since Hakeem retired. Think about that for a second. That doesn't frustrate you? If it doesn't, then I have to question YOUR fandom.

Yao and T-Mac were supposed to be our version of Kobe and Shaq, but they have yet to play a full season together. Let's face it, they probably never will. I'm sorry, but that's extremely frustrating to me and a LOT of other long-time Rocket fans. And we're going to say so.

And before you question my fandom, just know that I've been following this team and bleeding Rocket red since before Yao and T-Mac were even born, so don't even try.
