    Tonight's contestant -- Vince McMahon!!

    Check this out:

"XFL ratings on NBC last night fell once again to a 2.6 overnight rating, a 7% decline from last week. The final number should come in at around a 2.3. This shows that the Tillman/Ventura angle was not a success. In a move to try and improve horrible ratings, the XFL has announced that they will start putting cameras in the cheerleader locker rooms next week."

"In another bold move, the XFL is considering allowing 19 year old high school graduates to play for the league next season. They would promote it as giving people who wouldn't get into college an opportunity to play pro-football. The American Football Coaches Association does not approve of this and it should get the XFL some publicity next season. This major change along with bringing cameras into the cheerleader locker rooms next week are all an attempt to increase ratings."

Pretty low class if you ask me...but what else could you expect from the mastermind behind "accidental nudity on pay-per-view" and such wrestling innovations as the "Spanking Match" (which involved his own daughter, BTW).

    Vince McMahon, please go away.

I'm a wrestling fan, and even though I used to be a WWF fan, I think McMahon is a shady, pathetic, sleazy, backstabbing piece of garbage. He should be in jail. That being said, it wouldn't surprised me if he allowed 14 year old girls to do strip teases on his programs for a few ratings points and a few dollars.

    Smokey --

My gripe with the H.S. kids is that the quality of play in the XFL is already horrible -- this'll water it down even more.

But its really just the cheerleader thing that bothers me. Its just so sleazy. I mean, I'm all for Capitalism and the whole nine, but I wonder how someone could put out a product so blantantly sleazy and sleep well.

You think we might get some girl-on-girl action at halftime? You know that all those cheerleaders are bisexual and like to have pillow fights and shower together?

Did anyone happen to catch the Conan sketch about the XFL? XFL survivor it was called. "Who will be the last person watching the XFL?" Hilarious, and so true.

    lol Jeff!!

I'm pretty sure that's what they'll show too.

    sad sad sad

with all the support the XFL garnered, you would have thought they could put something decent together.

I saw a commercial for the game this Saturday. It went something like "For the first time in XFL history, we will take you inside the locker room...the locker room of the cheerleaders in order to improve ratings".

They know they have a ratings problem. They admit it in the commercial, and they admit that they will do something sleazy to get ratings.

Overtime, this will improve the play in the XFL. The XFL says that it will only draft kids that have been out of high school for 1 year. I'm afraid what effect it will have on college football. If I am a blue chip athlete recruited by Florida St, Miami, or Nebraska, and recruited by the XFL...my two/three years would be better spent making $200k in a developmental league in the U.S. than playing college ball.

    A) Most 19-yr-olds are not physically ready to play against 25-yr olds. This is not true in the NBA or MLB, but it's certainly the case in professional football according to about 95 percent of the pro football personnel I've heard comment.

    B) It is extremely debatable whether a 19-yr old would be better off making the >$50,00 the XFL pays for three years as opposed to being tutored in their craft in a college program.

If I were a high school tackle, I'd take the scholarship to Nebraska, lift weights for four years while being tutored by coaches who've turned out dozens of NFL linemen, and learn the intricacies of my position. I'd have zero interest in risking serious injury competing against no-name scrubs in a league whose primary motivator (before quality of play or safety of participant) is scoring big TV ratings with 14-yr old boys.
