My knee's hurtin' somethin' aweful, that means it's gonna be a big trade comin, gotta be, too quiet.

Either that or we're startin' the season one injury away from last place.

Doesn't anyone know someone who cuts CD's hair?

Sorry if I'm taking up to much bandwidth but I'm feeling a bit scared and needy and alone. Please Rockets, be a part of somethin' BIG.Please.

Whatever happened to our big splash? It seems like the Rockets have not done anything to better them selves. Besides hiring JVG, they haven't done squat. They let TMO go and Posey might be gone. WHo they going to get to get them to the next level.
Everyone has gotten better while the Rockets stand pat.

    What is CD thinking?

I agree...while the rest of the league and i'm talking EVERYONE from the champion Spurs to the lowly Wizards are being busy bees signing and improving...we'll be lucky to have a full roster come game time unless the Rox are planning on signing some CBA scrubs as fillers. IMO, the longer we wait the more opportunities are being squandered. I like Arenas...he's in Washington...i liked Speedy...he's with the Warriors...we lost Brand, Daniels, PJ, Davis, and the list goes on. I wouldn't mind giving up Rice and maybe Cato for Sprewell...we could use his toughness and attitude and bring Cat off the bench. I know the Spurs/76ers/Knicks deal wont go through because the Spurs wont give up Malik because I read he's Duncan's best friend on the team..and the Knicks will do anything to get rid of Spree. IMO do everything to keep Posey and add Spree and a backup C and keep the rest of the team intact. CD please get off your hands and make something happen!!

That "big splash" you hear is our bloated contracts (Cato, Taylor, Moochie) hitting the water preventing us from probably being able to resign Posey and get any other FAs with our MLE.

I agree, we need some off season action. I feel like every team is makin moves and all we do is release a logo. Sweet. It was the highlight of our summer. Now i see that we may lose Posey. Great work guys. I'll admit i was excited when the logo came out. I thought great things were about to happen. I liked the way they were holding out, building excitment. Now i just hate it. Our team moves too slow. I dont know the business, but we havent really been in the news at all reguarding players except for our horrible play during the summer leagues. The best FA we can get is Piakowski?? Looks like this team is on the rise. He is the key to take us to the playoffs. Yeah right. So let me get this right, we are basically losing a starter and bringing in a role player? That is if we can actually sign him. I'm sick of this boring, slow, terrible, uneventful offseason. Les said he is ready to spend, lets do it. The players are, or were, out there and it looks like we just blew it. Just letting off steam here.

    Disgruntled Fan,

If the Rockets could some how work a deal to get Odom that would make all the differrence. IMO he is the only one left that can really help this Rockets team, assuming he stays away from using drugs.

I say CD do what ever you have to do to get his guy.

Trade Griffin, Mobley(to replace Maggette), future first rounder and for Odom and Wilcox. The Rockets can start a contract to Odom for about 6mil a year.

Only if the Clips can't make the minimum (which would mean they have no intention of matching the Maggette/Miller offers AND don't want Odom long-term) then we might be able to do a Rice/EG trade. They make the minimum w/o long-term committment and get a good young player. We get Odom to play with the party-posse backcourt (and Mo T too).

That scenario is very doubtful. I think we'll wind up matching Posey one way or another and that's about it.

Because they have to make up for the deficiencies of their new head coach...

I think the rockets just keep setting up smoke screens. First they say they want the best coach and they let larry brown go. Then they say the luxury tax is not a factor, which it clearly is. There is no big splash. They might not be able to sign posey. How sad is that. For a team who needed some roster IMPROVEMENTS. The rockets have succeded in lying to their fans and could end up making the team worse.

If it meant getting Odom, it might just take those two players, just to match the first-year salary that Odom would command.

Anyway, the next few days will determine Odom's future. Apparently the Clips offered a 3-year deal, maybe not wanting those ballooning contracts (Brand, Maggette?, et al) to add up at the same time.

Here's a realistic option that would greatly benefit the ROX: Trade Mobely OR Griffin + filler if neccessary for Earl Watson AND Stromile OR Lorenzen. Any of these three could help us improve and address our weakest areas. Earl Watson, particularly, is damn solid, a younger, tougher version of Eric Snow. He's smart, savvy, unselfish, fundamentally sound, a great leader and has serious heart. C'mon, CD...get it done!!

How does trading Mobley for Swift make sense for Memphis, the team of endless swingmen and the team that is about to sign Posey to an offer sheet? How does trading one project PF in Griffin (who doesn't play down low enough) for another in Swift (who can't shoot that well and is inconsistant) help either squad?
