It's realistic to put the Rocket in 2nd tier of elite in West

You know why I say that, quite simply because the 1st tier are the Lakers, Blazers, and Spurs.

The 2nd tier are the Jazz, Wolves, Suns, and now the Rockets.

The 3rd tier teams are the Kings, Mavericks, Sonics, and maybe the Grizzleys.

The rest of the teams are coach class!!!

The reason behind my logic is that now at any point in the game the Rockets will always have 2 legitimate scorers and even possibly 3 scorers.

With the starting line up you have two legit scorers in francis and Taylor. And you have 3 solid role players in Williams, Cato, and Anderson.

When Taylor goes to the bench you have Mobley also come in at shooting guard. And with steve that is great offense.

Then the coup is when all three players are playing together at the same time. This is great because you have a scorer at every level of the court. In the front court you have Mo Taylor. In the Mid to long range you have Mobley. And the leader of the pack Franchise can hold his own.

This teams speed will beat half the teams in the league, the other 1/4 of the games won will be won on pure talent.

You know what's scary, this team is so young and going in the right direction that the core will develop into possibly a jugernot!!!!

I agree. I think the Rockets can seriously challenge for the fourth spot in the West. I think we'll see Utah falter a bit this season. The Wolves still don't have it all together. The Suns could easily falter as well. It's going to be exciting.

I agree with you on almost everything but Utah.I cant see Utah droping off unless they get some key injurys but you can say that about a lot of the best teams.Utah has just got better from last season from what i see.

If the core of this team does stick together we could see some beat L.A. signs here in Houston.

dude...at least mention Dream as a possible contributer. I don't think he will simply be just a "role player", but to even leave him off that list of yours, is a little insulting. I'm willing to bet anyone that Dream (when healthy) will put up at least 15 pts and 7 reb per game, and that's fulfilling of a "role player".

I think that the Jazz won't be as good next season. Mainly because Malone and Stockton are getting way too old.

If things go well (Cato works hard and Mo gets 7 rpg) then we might even be challenging for the 5th-6th seed [IMG]

Ok so maybe my imagination is running wild here - but it's always fun to be hopeful!!

DrNuegebauer this is not your imagination.

Right now it is so realistic that it is scary. Last year this team was not winning and then they got it together near the end. And as I saw it, all they were lacking was another offensive threat. Well their winning steak as I refered to in another post [IMG] was clearly a huge deciding factor, Taylor said "the Rockets are a playoff team". Well, WHAT A STREAK.

Now they have their third option. And that third option will always be the difference between a playoff showing and a lottery sitting. The Role players get you into the the championships. But the Stars always win the games for you. And three stars growing together at about the same age is too much. Because the potential for all three is huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
