If memory serves, just when the entire league begins talking fervently about trading marquis names like Jalen Rose, Gary Paton, and others, it seems to get VEWWY VEWWY QUIET in H-Town.

Les Alexander has proven that he will not stand pat if he can find a way to improve his team without sacrificing too much. So, it may be quiet for another week or so, but then....

    BAM!!! :D :D :D

The Rockets will pull off a major 3-team trade that will bring the PERFECT fit to the Rox. Someone that will not only benefit the Rox in the here and now, but also for several years to come...

My personal trade picks: Gary Payton, or Jason Terry!!!!!!!!!

I know, it's another trade thread, but I'm just saying that it seems a little too quiet around the Rockets front office, and when you combine that with Cat's mopey look lately.......hmmmmmm.

Jason Terry?? He would be Cat part II...

In the West, we must get a PF who actually is starting caliber. EG as a starter does not cut the mustard.

You're right. JT=Cat and Cat-JT. But I'd rather have Cat in my opinion since him and Stevie are good friends and everything. But if you want a guard comming to the team, get rid of the Mooch and get Tony Delk.... sounds good to me.

That exactly is the reason to trade Cat... Being buddy-buddy on a basketball TEAM is not really a good thing, especially when Francis will only pass to Mobley.

I would trade Mobley for Terry in a heartbeat.

so far the best I've heard is Griffin and Mobley for Brand (and maybe Piaktowski).. whether it's feasible or not, who knows.

LA would laugh at that deal.

They already have Chris Wilcox, as the young PF for the future. And he will be better than EG.

And Cuttino Mobley-type SGs are a dime a dozen. How hard is it to find an undersized SG, with an oversized ego?

Mobley is a better player than Pike, but Pike is more of a rare commodity than Mobley, in the sense that he can actually shoot.

Rockets would need to give up Francis or Yao for Brand.

Not too often where teams will trade their best player, for another team's 3rd best player. Much less, if that player is better suited to being a 6th man.

Man if it wasn't for Cat, I don't think Steve would still be here when he came to Houston in 99'. I felt bad when We traded Kenny though, even though it was for the best, you feel like you know these guys.

Where would Francis be then? He would still be under contract...

And if Francis makes his BASKETBALL decisions based on Cuttino, then I really don't want him being our so-called "leader".

    kidrock8,

You're really in full blast today aren't you?

The best trade (or DEAL for that matter) the Clippers have made in the past 5 seasons was due to Jerry Krause's stupidity.

When did the Clippers front office become sensible?

It's happened before, and it will happen again. Maybe not to us, but Brand will be traded for a bag of peanuts, just so they won't pay him.

Oh, and btw, Griffin is MUCH MUCH further along than Wilcox. Wilcox has looked horrific in the few minutes he's gotten. He's not ready. He also, btw, needs to add size, just like Griff.

I'm not saying the Clippers would CERTAINLY jump at our Mobley/Griffin or Cato/Griffin deals, but they will make a stupid deal and ours has as good a chance as anyone else's.
