Regardless if Rice will be able to come back this season Posey should have the SF position locked up for the rest of the year. With Posey getting the starting minutes over the last three games the Rockets are 3-0 and he has been averaging 14.6 points and 8 rebounds a game while shooting at a 54% clip. He is starting to find his nitch in the offense and playing outstanding D.
I hope he continues to play well and forces Rudy to put him in the starting lineup with or without Rice.
Rice is cooked. Posey will start the rest of the season, and I hope he continues to bring a high-energy, high-percentage game to our team.
That 3-way trades looks really good for Philly and particularly for the Rockets. Denver, well, they're Denver. We don't need a pocket full of poseys. This one is flowering in Houston like a one-man botanical garden.
This is the Posey I was so happy about getting a few weeks back. This guy is for real and adds some serious aggressivness to the floor. Rice or no Rice, we would be crazy not to start him every night.
Why does this trade look good for Philly? They went into the tank about the same time they made the trade.
K.T. started out posting really decent numbers, and he seems to have melded with their team. The players Philly sent to Denver were doing nothing for them. Ergo, good trade for Philly and awful for Denver. I think the Rockets got the best of the deal.
Just in case Rudy puts Rice back in after 2 weeks, Can Rockets fans sign some sort of petition for Rudy pleading to start Posey instead of Rice? For goodness sake, I really hope Rudy doesn't start Rice when he recovers.
I also noticed Philly started heading South with Kenny's acquisition, but that's before I found out that they have several key guys out. Derrick Coleman is starting at C, and Van Horn is fading again. For Houston, all we lack is a Matt Bullard off the bench. I get the feeling Rice purposely doesn't concentrate on being accurate from 3-pt range so that he's not conceived as a 3-pt shooter, when that is what we NEED and WANT from him. We have an inside game. If he can be a half-decent 3-pt shooter, and continue to grab Francis' ear, that would be great. Are there any true 3-pt threats available? I'd gladly take Lamond Murray's fat contract off anyone's hand in exchange for Rice. I'm sure the team that has him would rather have cap space in a year's time. Don't bring up Boki please. It's been discussed, and he's not the 3-pt threat that Peja is. He has a good 3-pt shot. That's not his game.
You might be right, but you simply know nothing about how good or bad Boki is or what his game is, so don't present your opinion as fact without even having any evidence (other than Boki not having gotten playing time) for it.
rudy has the lamest excuse going now for why he refuses to give Boki any playing time....he doesn't want to put him in a tough situation having to matchup with Pierce, Marion, and prob Rick Fox. As if those guys play 48 min a game
Wait. This is a "Thank Goodness We Got Posey" thread. The "Why Boki Is Not Playing" thread is yet to be created...today.
It's not an opinion. Boki was never the hot shooting 3-pt threat in Europe for his team Treviso Benetton. He took it to the rim most often, and had a decent 3-pt shot.
Sane is correct in this. Boki is a slasher type that can shoot the ball. however, his style of play isnt to sit behind the 3 point line and shoot.
Ah man, Posey is the key.... His defense is outstanding, and he gets OUT on the break which puts pressure on the opposing team. He energizes the entire team. I love what he is bringing to the table..... GO POSEY !! DD
JPo is a wonderful addition. Thanks, KT, for allowing the Rox to get someone with his aggressive play, hard D, and winning attitude. I miss you, KT, but not a lot. PS What will it take for Nachbar to play Boki-etball?
I don't think that this was about Denver improving so much as it was about them clearing more cap space. They could be $22 million under the cap in a year that promises some of the biggest free agent names EVER - Duncan, Kidd, etc. They weren't going to re-sign Posey for the $50 million Posey wants.
Posey has been playing great lately. Especially since he was inserted into the starting lineup. I think it will be hard to sit him down on the bench when/if Rice comes back if Posey continues to put up the numbers he is putting up now. His energy is infectious, his offense is coming around and his defense is excellent. I really like the fact that he is hitting the glass hard for rebounds. With Posey, Griffin and Yao we have a decent rebounding front line. Keep it up Posey! Chris
