Yep, it's over for Huckabee. He just doesn't know it yet.

He seems to be far and away the most 'ideal' candidate from the Republican side. He has a balanced demeanor, is well-spoken/articulate and seems well-informed. He seems to be the 'moderate conservative' (and Southerner) that you would think the GOP would be promoting right now, as opposed to the liberal Guiliani or the Mormon flip-flopper Romney (he also seems to hold a number of liberal views, despite his denials). But I am guessing GOP supporters are far more interested in a 'strong candidate' can defeat Hillary, instead of going with a 'real' conservative candidate like Huckabee.

Anyways, either he or McCain would be my choice if I was a conservative voter. I am somewhat biased to Huckabee because I am familiar with his background and I really took a liking to him when I saw his interview a while back with Charlie Rose (he has a very interesting personal story to tell that's rather inspirational, and just seems like a good, old-fashioned guy).

I like the guy. I disagree with a LOT of his positions, but at least I like him. :)

    Running mates?

Vice president Norris? Behavior in the senate would clean up quick, I tell you what.

VP Norris: "You need to be on time for the vote." (kicks Senate member in face)

That's why I would like to see a Huckabee - Richardson contest. I was being a little tongue in cheek but the truth is Chuckie is a hero in some circles (like senior senior citizens).

Chuck Norris supported Bush? No wonder he got elected with less votes than Gore. Whoever Chuck Norris picks is what really matters.

I've gotten that feedback from a lot of my friends, most of whom are liberals and committed Democrats.

Well, at least we know of ONE candidate that the country won't riot against if he's elected (at least initially)...

EDIT: Here's the interview with Charlie that I was talking about earlier; this was before he announced he would run for president (about a year ago)...comes across as a very likable, easy going guy:
