Sorry if this has been posted before. I couldn't find anything one it. I see he'll be starting on Christmas - for Yao vs. Shaq, I presume...?

I am pumped about this. Al Michaels is one of the best. It will be fun to hear his voice calling the best sport ever, the NBA.

Al Michaels truely is one of the best. Great choice to do play by play. But I thought that Brad Nessler did a solid job last year though.

Al Michaels is probably the best commentator working today. Excellent move.

I can't wait for the season to start!

He can't be worst than Brent Mussberger or whatever his name is. He is way past his prime. He has no kind of inthusiasm for the game at all. I wish they would get Marv Albert to leave TNT and do the ABC games. I would rather have Bob Costas, but he would never leave his HBO gig.

Why don't you just watch the games on TNT and hear Marv two or three times a week, instead of just one on ABC? They have the best halftime and postgame show anyway with Ernie, the Jet, and Chuck.

How come Al Michaels didn't do it last year?

I'd like to see Al Michaels call Hockey games, but Gary Thorne is much better. I wonder if Gary Thorne can call basketball games. He also does baseball for ESPN. .

So it's going to be Al Michaels, and Bill Walton?

Good point, but I was talking more about the NBA Finals. I couldn't stand listening to the comentary during the finals. I listened to Marv Albert do the last Super Bowl on the Radio and he was Awesome!!! He is even better at basketball commentary. As long as they don't hire Isaih Thomas again, man was he dry or what. Half the time he sounds like he's half asleep.

someone mentioned Gary Thorn, the main ESPN hockey announcer.

As a baseball announcer the guy is a complete joke. he showed show much biased for the cubs the other day it wasn't even funny.

We need more Houston Alum. How about Jim Nantz.

I love the end of the Texans game. Nantz before the replay was even played. "Why would they review it. Seriously. Why even think about reviewing it. It's a Touch down. End of story." Too funny.

    "Bababooey to y'all"

"Peter, that is a farcical call. The name mentioned by the caller is a host on a popular radio show"

I guess no one heard of the prank call ABC News received during the OJ Simpson stuff. I guess they were thin on staff so Al Michaels was reporting from the scene. Peter Jennings took a call from a viewer who was incoherent till the end. Whenever I hear Al Michaels I think back to this event.
