Ann Coulter Talks About Poisioning Justice LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Conservative commentator Ann Coulter, speaking at a traditionally black college, joked that Justice John Paul Stevens should be poisoned. Coulter had told the Philander Smith College audience Thursday that more conservative justices were needed on the Supreme Court to change the current law on abortion. Stevens is one of the court's most liberal members. "We need somebody to put rat poisoning in Justice Stevens' creme brulee," Coulter said. "That's just a joke, for you in the media." Coulter has made a career of writing and lecturing on her strongly conservative views. At one point during her address, which was part of a lecture series, some audience members booed when she cut off two questioners. "I'm not going to be lectured to," Coulter told one man in a raised voice. She drew more boos when she said the crack cocaine problem "has pretty much gone away." I wonder what the theater sounded like when she "joked" that Justice Stevens should be poisioned. I imagine the sounds of crickets and nothing else. The crack problem has gone away? That's wonderful. Then we can stop this War on Drugs crap. Put that $17 billion to some good use. What a lunatic.
I can't believe I am defending her, but it was obviously a joke, though it was a stupid and unfunny one. I don't really see any harm in it. I think she lost it when she made the comment about an Arab being near Bush was unsafe.
I don't see how anyone could defend this lady. She came to speak at my university a year ago and she was a robo-b****. I am fairly middle of the road, somewhat left leaning, but I don't get into all of the back and forth bickering that a lot of people seem to enjoy. This lady took the cake when she enticed a strongly partisan crowd to BOO a former veteran that said he was a Clinton supporter. The guy was not being purposely rude to her or anything, just asking a question and mentioning that he thought Clinton had done a good job with the war in Kosovo.
Ann Coulter is just trying to sell more books and create stir by appealing to Bubba. I don't think anyone out there actually takes her seriously.
You're mistaken, sir. A LOT of people on the right, sadly, take this lady and the likes of Sean Hannity and Limbough very seriously. Don't underestimate the strong passions of the extreme right, they're more passionate about their issues than any other force in the political arena.
If Ann Coulter were to mate with Rush Limbaugh, we would witness the birth of the Anti-Christ except the child would be in rehab for the rest of his life from Ann's coke habit and Rush's Oxycotin laden swimmers...ugh, I can't beleive I just put that in words, I need therapy.
Men can't mate with each other. That's one of the main arguments against gay marriage. Pay attention.
Agreed, but generally, these are the same people who enjoy watching NASCAR and have a car on cinder blocks in front of their doublewide.
Sorry Last time I checked the extreme left wasn't bombing a federal building or killing an abortion doctor.
She should be booed just for making such a stupid and dumb joke. I think one of the biggest problems in America today is the complete polarization of the parties. Remember the days when you could disagree with some one from your party? When even if a president you voted for and supported did something you disagreed with you could speak out that one issue and not be attacked? The year round campaign style deamonization by both parties is tremendous, and I believe dangerous because Americans sell out their own beliefs because to support an issue that "the other side" supports is unthinkable. It has become so bad that I think many people have to listen to Rush or Frankin before they know what they are suppose to think.
