It's obvious we need an All Star.... so why not Tmac? If not... who?

The game against Cleveland further proved to me that this is a good team in need of a All-Star calibur player. We have a solid group of guys, but we need a phenominal talent in the mix that will put us over the top. Stating the obvious; We will not compete with LA, Boston, Cleveland and Orlando in a seven game series. We are headed for a medicore season with a hopeful early playoff exit. This is highly frustrating in itself, and makes me wonder why we have an All Star calibur player leaving the team today (If you dont think T-Mac is an All Star player that is entirely another thread).

In any case it appears to me that Adelman and Morey decided months ago that they would trade McGrady at the trade deadline. This is the only explanation for the lack of playing time they are giving McGrady, as they feel it will be too risky and might damage trade prospects. Imagine if Hakeem came back after a long break. He would be in the starting line-up immediately. They obviously lost faith in T-Mac's abilities and want no more part in him, but in order to keep him sane and give potential trade suitors a quick view of his health, they threw him some minutes. In the game he scored 10 points in 8 minutes it was a joke that they took him out.

Now I am not trashing Adelman's and Morey's strategy completely, it does two things to our season. 1) They are banking on the fact they can acquire someone special at the trade deadline, and risk our entire season. 2) or, they fully intend to get rid of T-Mac's contract on another team for garbage in return, and scrap this entire season. I think the latter is the case, and it drives me up the wall.

We will not get any player with T-Mac's potential, and we have no chance in hell to sign D-Wade and Lebron next year. We might have the money, but they will not play for us. That is a fact. If you disagree then you are dillusional. So... why not give the T-Mac reign another chance?

Regardless of the way Tmac handled his injury problems over the last 2 years, is it not safe to say this past rehabilitation was legit? The man is ready to go, and its obvious he is much better. All this garbage about his injury disrupting the team is ridiculous. When Tmac played well the other night he should have been given more minutes the next game.

This team needs another player. I say Tmac. Please indulge me with other options.

I did forget to mention that this thread is under the assumption that YaoMing is done, and can never be relied upon again to produce consistent play for this team ever again!

This is an easy one, he is not an all star and hasn't been one for several years.

This is a true statement yet frustrating as well. You are disregarding his obvious rehabilitation and talent. If you follow his injuries he never recovered properly until this time.

The reason he never fully recuperated is because he never dedicated sufficient amount of time to rehabbing or preparing for the next season. He DID THIS YEAR BECAUSE ITS A CONTRACT YEAR. Sorry Yao but worry about yourself recuperating instead of Mclady's situation.

What exactly leads you to believe he has recovered? Or that he won't re-injure himself his first season back? What world are we living in that Tracy McGrady is some sort of hard-working iron man?

Good luck to him wherever life may take him, but the guy couldn't get past the first round when he was young and healthy. He is certainly nowhere near all-star caliber anymore. I agree the Rockets need a REAL all-star, not some washed up bum who gets hurt and shoots his mouth off every five minutes.

    Who?

Arriza with his 20% shooting and worse than Shaq at the free throw line. I don't like how the Rocket management is thinking on this, but I hope they are far smarter than me.
