When watching the playoffs, i notice things that i never saw with these rockets. I cant put my finger on it, there isnt really one person to blame than the whole team itself. In previous years i saw it in them, but now i dont see it. Something needs to change, maybe roster moves, maybe coaching change, maybe attitude, but if there isnt a major change between this year and next, they WILL NOT make the play offs... i know this sounds repeated, but a little of everything must change, not just players, not just a change in the style of coaching, something of everything cause this team as it stands is going nowhere.

Well.....of course......if we were in the playoffs...you would probably see it in them. Probably all of them except Eddie.

    It's just a game!

    Golly!

    Not your life.

    ;)

But yeah. There needs to be a few changes...not personnel...internal stuff like strategies and style and system and pratice habits and preparation and stuff would be fine too.

Umm...the Rockets finished ONE GAME out of the playoffs, so I don't think major changes are needed. As for the Rockets not being able to match up with these teams, if you notice, the Rockets do ok against good teams. It's the sucky teams we have trouble with!:(

They were 1 full game ahead.. a true team deserving of the playoffs would being to play with consistency and keep that lead instead of falling as much as 3 behind and playing thier hopes on phoenix's loss

Dwelling on the past of ONE lost game won't really help us now. I'm sure if someone predicted the future for them on this they would've worked a lot harder than they did... but mainly I think they just need more "teamwork". Nothing that can't be worked on during the offseason.

Now if they break up this team and add new players... it's almost like a clean slate we're going to have to mold again.

    omair,

How many years is all these years for you? How come only what 7 posts????

Besides, what you see in the playoff teams is the fact that they ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS. It's a different kind of league in the playoffs and it's true the Rockets didn't get there this year and we all wish they could have. But the reality is that they as a group ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH to make the playoffs, so they didn't. Losing their headcoach for the last 17 games did not help matters. Having a tired Ming hitting a rookie wall in April didn't help either. But thems the breaks.

That low in Ming's game in April costed him the ROY and he knows it but I wouldn't blame him. He is not ready to carry the team yet. Unfortunately, Steve isn't either. So, they didn't make it by one game. Life sucks but you go on. Good luck in Austin.

    I might suggest several observations:-
    a) Other teams players just know what to do and when to do it! Especially how to execute the plays. Not the Rox.
    b) They know how to do it, especially team defence and team offence. The Rockets dont play team basketball.
    c) They have effective coaching and the players follow the coaches instructions. Not the Rockets
    d) The Point Guard sets up his players and passes the ball! Need I say more!
    e) They know how to shoot and put the ball in the hoop!! Need I say less!
    f) Other teams have mature professional Coaches as their Assistant Coaches. The Rockets have trainee Assistants.
