I think they say it to make the other person feel less bad about the situation, not that it ever works. b****.
i've used it once or twice. in moments where split seconds seem like minutes you try to fill the void...
you never realize what it means until you end up being me and they end up being you at some point or something yeah
I am sure everyone has heard it at least once. Maybe slightly altered but the basic form is still there. At least be honest.
Maybe they don't want to hurt some feelings by going down a list of things they don't like about the relationship. Nothing wrong with that. The saying is pretty honest if you think about it..."It's not you, it's me." Yeah, because it's their preference to not like X about the relationship. Love sucks sometimes, but if it was easy it wouldn't feel so good other times.
I used it earlier this week...It just works...Well, then she started calling me out and asking why...Then I had to revert to Plan B...
"You're giving me the 'It's Not You, It's Me' routine? I invented 'It's Not You, It's Me!' If it's anybody, it's me!"
