It's just not working for me today . . . In my entire life, I've worked on probably over a hundred laptops. And in all that time, never once have I broken the LCD panel on one . . . until today. Today I broke two!! Dropped one when the bottom of a box fell out. The other broke when I was picking up something next to it and it caught and fell on the floor. The first one is not a big deal -- I can send it away for warranty, but the second one is a teacher's laptop that he wanted me to get rid of spyware on. That's TWO!!!!!! A long streak of perfection and then in one instant it all goes to hell. I'm afraid anything else I touch today is going to explode . . . Anyone else having that kind of day?
Not yet! But the day's not over. Man, good luck. That's awful. I need to buy a laptop in the not-to-distant future. I guess I should spend on the "accident" coverage?
Yes. Only my issues are completely different - it's more of the same ole stuff for me. I just wish I could be rid of it all. Here's to a crappy day - even though it's wonderful outside.
I'm Sorry man, I know how you feel, its just one of those days, best part about it is that you can go to sleep, and put all that behind you. Just forget that it ever happened. Or you can use alternate methods to do this....
Well, it's only money . . . I think I can get a replacement laptop for around $250 . . . damn, I do this stuff as favors to people, it's not my job, I don't ask to be paid for it, so I can't afford to have accidents . . . But now I'm home drinking a Red Stripe and it's all good. And now I'm going to sit outside and enjoy the day . . . There is a positive though -- the plant that I almost killed is growing again now that I put it back outside WOOHOO!! edit ima -- Knowing how well things are working for me, I'd take one hit and get alcohol poisoning . . . "We're going streaking!!"
I can top that... I was with Will and Holly on a routine expedition, when we met the greatest earthquake ever known! High on the rapids, it struck our tiny raft and plunged us down a thousand feet below. -- droxford
I have to laugh. As a gen-X'er, I bet the youngsters on this board have no idea what my post meant Hint: Beware of the Sleestak -- droxford
