well, i'm just thinking, with 2 losses and a 3rd overtime against the worst team in the west, DM must be boiling something by now. We need to make some changes. This is supp9osed to be the easiest stretch in our season sked. Cmon Morey, do something.
One of the most important qualities a good business man must have is patience. You don't sell the farm if a couple of hens aren't laying egg's..
I am sure there is a move coming. We need two things, a 3-tool guy on the perimeter, that is a guy that can shoot it, create and dish, and drive and finish, and we need a rangy big man with some defensive and offensive skills.
I don't think these losses are going to put any pressure on Morey -- or at least, they shouldn't. It would be a mistake for the Rockets to jump on a deal because of a few losses right now. I did think the public divorce between the team and McGrady may force their hand to do something sooner, but once that awkwardness passed, I think the plan is the same that we've talked about since the season began -- keep this thing together until February when some teams may throw in the towel financially.
Patience is a virtue. The rockets know what they need, but are going to have to wait it out until the trade deadline. Scorer and a true shotblocker or as Battier says "a rim protector" are what they need in a big way. It didn't take long, but teams have figured the current team out.
And Morey's job is not to live in the "Now" but rather to do what is best for the franchise going forward. So, I think he will make a deal if there is a good one to be made, and if not, he will just let Tmac expire. DD
Morey can get Elton Brand and Dalembert right now, but it would screw the team with Elton's albatross contract and constant injuries and Dalembert's crappy contract. It's T-Mac and Yao all over again, but with a All-star PF riding pine with a max contract instead of a C or swingman. It's better to get a good trade in a month than do a bad trade that will screw the team.

DM might have to trade Landry,Lowry or Luis in order to get a chance of obtaining what we need. No one wants to give up much of anything for Tracy,IMO.
I think the realization that the Rockets need a jump-start to the season if they want to make the playoffs has set in. I would agree that its not like Daryl Morey to sacrifice long term championship-prospects for present gains (especially in a season when a championship is pretty much out of the question). But I think he and Les value that playoff appearance enough to allow that to be a significant factor in decisions made at the deadline. If the Rockets continue to play mediocre basketball, I'd be shocked if they don't make a trade for a key rotation player.
True, but that might cost an arm and a leg. Les is the guy that will make the call. DM and RA will have to factor in everything.
I am sure Morey will play it safe and wait till Feb. deadline. Glad I am not a GM because I would have already ruin the team by Trading TMac for Iguodala and Dalembert and then trading Battier Landry Dorsey for Bosh/filler.
Nah the bbs wouldn't be the same, need some posts no matter what. I enjoy the banter and emotions of all that care about the Rockets in wins and loses.
