After watching the team last night, I have come to the conclusion that all we are doing around here is beat a dead horse.

It's pretty obvious that our team is deeply flawed, and I've had enough of them. I will follow the lead of other long time posters and take an extended leave of abscence. Maybe next summer when this team gets blown up and we start to rebuild around Yao, making sure the right players are on the team, then I will get back.

It's pointless, this roster just doesn't work.

- Cato has the best of intentions, but he is a liability on the offensive end that allows the other team us constantly.
- Mo is the biggest black hole I've ever seen. Not even ONCE he passed the rock back last night.
- Jackson is as inconsitent as they come, even though he doesn't make stupid mistakes, which brings us to...

Dumb and dumber: do I even have to explain?

No wonder attendance is low.

The maddening thing is, they can play extremely well for stretches and come up with performances like the one against the Lakers. We keep hoping that they can deliver like that in a regular basis, but it is folly. It won't happen.

With the road record we have, I wouldn't be surprised if we choked our way out of the playoff hunt....

Yao is the only bright spot, and what a bright spot it is. It's great to watch him develop his dominating self, and JVG is proving that he can get through to Yao. We HAVE a future. Let's hope we don't postpone it any longer by sticking with a roster that just doesn't work and never will.

Consider me gone until this abomination has been terminated.

Just give up watching the Rockets for Lent. In April if we are fortunate enough to have the Rockets in the playoffs, then you can hop back on the bandwagon.

I respect your feelings Thanos, I really do. You have basically summed up my feelings better than I ever could. I won't quit watching altogether but I'm not going to let them get under my skin anymore I'll simply change the channel as I did during the Hawks game (great win guys:rolleyes: )

This is worrying me a bit too. We just can't seem to beat good teams. Its seems like when the pressure is on we always do something stupid and implode, I don't get. :(

Try to be a Yao only fan. That way although you still get frustrated, it's not hopeless.

OK my bad, I didn't mean to imply that rockets are hopeless, they are not. +50% win is good enough in any sports.

This is stupid. Either you're a rockets fan or not. Be grateful we have a team that strives to compete at the highest level and has brought us a few rings. Just imagine if you were in Golden State, Washington or until very recently, cleveland.

That said, I encourage the rest of you posters with this particular outlook to take this path. This place will be a more enjoyable place with considerably less whining. :D

Mo is shooting near 50% from the floor while being the ONLY offensive force off the bench, why would you want him to pass back the rock?

Other teams are beginning to double Mo like they double Yao. Mo needs to pass the ball out, or he gets screwed by the doubling defender.

don't know. but we can say bandwagoner.

The Rockets lose to two of the top teams in the west at their place and Thanos is calling it a season. You quitter.

Your expectations are too high. Remember the goal is to make the playoffs this year and then evaluate this team by how the perform in the playoffs.

Just think about this though, while you are quitting as a fan, word from 610 sports was that Steve Francis was at Toyota Center earlier today practicing his shooting while his teammates were still at home, while it was just him and JVG in the building and he practiced till his hands bled while jvg was rebounding his shots.

I will say this, quitting and not giving them your support, albeit just for a season, is better than constantly dogging your team like those two other posters do on here.

I kinda see where u r coming from. Its definitely more frustrating than most years. I could even go through that horrid 25 win season a couple of years ago, including that 15 game losing streak, cause we were supposed to suck. And we actually hung in there most games even that year. Plus, in the end, losses were more exciting, cause they were closer to the #1 pick in lottery. Now, we should be at least as good as the beat up Lakers, or hanging with Dallas or Memphis's record. At least come up with one big win every now and then......not counting the Lakers......but its too predictable....And its not just one thing we gotta fix. Its quite a lot. TOs, passing, Steve, Yao, mental lapses, coaching, slumps in critical periods, mentality.....list goes on....

That said, gotta gut it out as a fan! As for me, I'm going tonite to Toyota Center and still scream for the Rockets!

I really dont understand this kind of fan. I mean, how long have you been a Rocket fan? If you are only a Rocket fan because of Yao then good riddance, because you are not a real Rocket fan or NBA fan.
If you are not a fan because of Yao and you are most definitely a fair weather fan, it means that you have been a Rocket fan for more than 4 or 5 years because they have not been winning for 4 or 5 years. So what makes you just want to leave now? If you are not a fan because of Yao I am guessing that this thread is a cry out for attention and recognition, which is a waste of all our time.

Thanos, I understand your frustration. Watching that puke of a game against the scrubs of Atlanta was the most excruciating thing I have done in awhile.

As best as I can remember, I've enjoyed your posts in the past. If you stay away until the Rockets develop some chemistry and consistancy, one way or another, I'll be happy to welcome you back as soon as possible.:D
