did anyone see channel 13 news? hakeem said something to the effect that he thinks threre will not be enough money for both of them...Did any one catch that? ------------------ "I didn't like jr. high when I was there. Why would I want to watch it on tv?" P. Mesku's opinion about "Survivor"
yea i caught a little, i think i heard something about them having to choose between the two. damnit hakeem the greedy b*stard. ------------------
Good Bye Hakeem. ------------------ "Break off the block like Maurice Green" --- Steve Francis President of the Moochie Norris fan club.
What a tough choice to make. Hakeem CAN'T be serious. Must be his wacky sense of humor at work. ------------------ We used to laugh at Grandpa when he'd head off and go fishing. But we wouldn't be laughing that evening when he'd come back with some w**** he picked up in town.
are you guys serious? talk about my the conflicts of emotion: a) Dream as a FA can do whatever he wants. Bravo chap, cheerio. Have a bon voyage! b) Dream, the mercenary, can suck my ***hole. ****ing son of a ****ing ***** * **** ********** ***. **. ------------------ women love me, fish fear me.
How quickly we forget! Hakeem deserves anything he wants, and he's always honest even when it doesn't serve him well. I've watched the Dream since his Phi Slamma Jamma days, and he is the best of what basketball, or any sport, is about. I'd rather watch a subpar Rockets team WITH the Dream than a technically better one without him and his heart. ------------------
No one's forgetting, but if its a choice between Hakeem and Webber, its Webber. Though I don't think such a situation will present itself. ------------------ Charles Barkely on the Raptors defeating the Knicks in Round 1 :"I think it was the Lord. The Lord was with the Raptors. You know the Knicks like to talk so much about religion, but I think the Lord was a Raptor fan."
I dont know if I heard correctly (I was just running in from another room during that channel 13 report) but didnt they also mention $12 million as a figure Hakeem or his agent was throwing around? Did anybody catch that? Did I hear that? Wasnt it supposedly $10 million earlier?? ------------------ "I didn't like jr. high when I was there. Why would I want to watch it on tv?" P. I can't say I caught it, but if those are numbers that are being thrown around, then it almost sounds like, well, Hakeem could be gone. Of course he's no longer worth that much, and I'm sure---I hope---he knows it. Your starting lineup for the Washington Wizards, at center, Hakeem the Dream O-la-ju-woooooonnnnn........At power forward, Sir Charles Barkley....(scrub, scrub)..and, at off guard, Mi-chael Jor-dannnnnnnn.... OK, OK, jumping the gun. ------------------
Shoot, it's not like Washington's going to give him that kind of money either. Heck, what team in the NBA would give him that kind of money? I really don't see what trying to be accomplished here. Is this just high balling? Well, I've said before not to jump the gun until I have the facts, so until we have something concrete, I guess I should take my own advice. ------------------
See ya' Dream. I don't think Dream would of faired to well against offenses sold on attacking zones. I have concerns about him being able to keep up with a new style of play that may force teams to really push the ball off the inbound, not allowing any zone to truly form. Again, I don't think Hakeeem and his dwindling stamina would fair to well against teams that plan on succeding by not allowing defenses enough time to form comftorable zones. ------------------
This sounds like a typical Dan Fegan tactic if true. Any team that Hakeem would want to play for is capped out and could only offer him 4.5 mil with the new mid level exception. If the Rockets can slightly better that along with the addition of Webber, I dont see any reason why Dream wont come back. In order to do this ofcourse, they need to move some of their salaried talent. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
ok..I saw the rebroadcast of that report last night. It did indicate that Dream believes it will come down to him OR Webber. 13 also said that according to "sources close to the Rockets" the $12 million figure was "the first salary figure he (hakeem) threw out." ------------------------------------------- Tim Melton (sp?) caught up with him at the airport and asked: If the Rockets sign Chris Webber and you coming back, would you like to see that? Could you see that happening? Hakeem: I dont know. I mean, from what they said..either one or the other as I understood before. so I dont really know... Tim: Either you or Chris? Hakeem: No, I mean, they said there is no room to sign me (and) Chris. That's what I was told ------------------------------------------- so...um..there you go...If it's $12 million...then of course there is no room for both...maybe that can be whittled down,...or rather, chopped down...I'd ove to see Hakeem and Webber ont he Rockets.. ------------------ "I didn't like jr. high when I was there. I looked to see if the Chronicle or ESPN had anything on this, but no luck. I certainly could be seeing what I want to see, but could the $12 million Dream is referring to be Webber's contract? Maybe he means that if Webber wants the max, $12 million, that that wouldn't leave enough room for him, because he won't sign for peanuts. I'm probably reaching here, but it's not like it's really unambiguously clear what Hakeem said, meant. ------------------
These statements from Hakeem must have realy affected me somehow because I had a dream about it last night... Shortly after those statements, the Rockets swung some sort of deal which involved Chicago - we ended up getting Brand. I dont know what the deal was or how it would even work...but I dont think Dream ended up in Chicago somehow because he seemed happy with the deal too..but he went somewhere other than Houston. Aslo: Boris Yetsin will kick the bucket on Feb. 7 - another dream ------------------ "I didn't like jr. high when I was there. Why would I want to watch it on tv?" P. Mesku's opinion about "Survivor"
