Round 1: Utah Jazz (60-22), going into game 5 IN UTAH. Jazz leading 82-75 with 5:40 left in game 5. They cinch it with Olajuwon hitting a Dream Shake™ that hits the top corner of the backboard and still goes in! (2-0 in elimination games)

Round 2: Phoenix Suns (59-23), down 3-1, going back to Phoenix after blowing leads! 3 games facing elimination, Barkley on the line to finalize it he misses the free throws with :17.9 left with Suns up 92-90! Hakeem hitting a 10 footer to tie it & Rockets come back in OT to win game 5! I don't think "Kiss of Death" needs any explanation. (3-0 in elimination games vs Suns, 5-0 total & never face elimination again in the playoffs!).

Round 3: San Antonio Spurs (62-20), the first series where we were up against it, just a showcase of Hakeem dominating the Admiral. Need I say more?

Finals: Orlando Magic (57-25), With Nick Anderson on the line to ice game 1, he misses 4 straight free throws, Kenny hits that record setting three at the end of regulation and Olajuwon icing it with the tip in in OT. It sucked the wind out of the Magic for the entire series. Olajuwon became one of a few players ever to score over 30 in each game of a finals (31, 34, 31, 35), averaging 32.8 PPG!

Tell me about it. I often look back in amazement that we were able to beat 4 teams that averaged 59.5 wins. And to think we did that without home court in any series is just insane.

The list of individual victims is also astounding:

    Karl Malone
    John Stockton
    Charles Barkley
    Kevin Johnson
    David Robinson
    Dennis Rodman
    Penny Hardaway
    Shaquille O'Neal

    What a time it was.

    With Hakeem impossible is nothing.

Where can I get the 1995 SA series on DVD?

lets not forget all the key moments.

Drexler play strong D on Stockton, forcing him to pass to David Benoit (who sucks)
Horry who got key rebounds in Phoenix in overtime
Horry's 3 pointer to beat the Spurs in game 1
Sam Cassell taking penny to school in game 2 of the finals

all our scrubs coming up big, chucky brown, pete chillcut

I think I watched that shot about 100 times!

In the following offseason, Kenny Smith and Hakeem came to do a training camp in Australia for players who won a comp.

I managed to get in (despite not winning the comp). Was jawing off to Kenny about how great the shot was - he told me to be Penny Hardaway and he'd replay the moment.

He pump faked, I went for the block (like Penny) and then Kenny put it on the floor one dribble pulled up to shoot - but since I knew what was coming ,I just blocked him from behind.

The greatest moment of my basketball career...

Wait, why is it disgusting to think about?

    Did I miss something?

How is the greatest playoff run in the history of sports 'disgusting'?

    "That dunk was nasty!"

"Did you see that pitch? Damn that was filthy."

"That was a sick touchdown run."

"That championship run was just disgusting."

Its funny how people forget that Horry was super clutch in Houston.
Game 1 was dominated with hakeem highlights, but it was horry who made the game winner. Orlando game 3. who was the guy hitting all the clutch 3s?
    Horry.
His clutchness didn't start with that 3 pointer against the Kings.
but since he was in LA, you can see how magnified his legend became.

Same with Cassell. Cassell has been awesome his entire playoff career, I hate how people think he's a ball hog cause he's not. his job off the bench is to create offense for himself or others. Cassell later on proved to be one hell of a point guard, one season being #2 in the league in assists.

It's disgusting to think about the quality of the teams that bounce us in the first round now compared to the ones the '95 Rockets slayed.
