The first of four DMB shows I'll be seeing in the next 16 days is tomorrow night. I am so friggin' pumped. The setlists so far this tour have me extremely excited. We're gonna be Dancing Nancies tomorrow night, I believe!!!
I just found out I'll be sitting in the actual seats instead of the lawn. I'll have a beer in one hand and a pad and paper in the other (the better to take notes on Carters playing ) and life will be good. This will be my first show. I'm guessing it won't be my last.
Carter is off the chain!! I was at the Red Rocks concert when they recorded Live at Red Rocks. You will love it. Every show I've been to has been great. Make sure you post a set list, if possible afterwards, because I'm curious what they're playing nowadays.
I've been to alot of DM concerts, usually at Southpark Meadows and to put it BLUNTLY, I don't do that anymore. But it was fun...
I'm so freaking pumped!!! Can't wait!! http://www.davematthewsband.com/road/frames.html With 100+ degree temperatures outside, we're psyched to have played the gig indoors tonight. The last time we played Oklahoma City was in 1995 and it was definitely good to be back. It looks as though we'll be hitting a bit of rain in the Houston area tomorrow, but it looks like the show will come off without a hitch. See y'all at the Woodlands tomorrow night. -- The DMB Crew Tuesday, July 15 11:39 PM CDT http://www.davematthewsband.com/road/frames.html Last Night's Setlist: Tuesday Jul 15 2003 Ford Center Don’t Drink the Water Satellite Don’t Burn The Pig One Sweet World If I Had It All I Did It Crash Say Goodbye Warehouse Grace Is Gone When The World Ends Grey Street Minarets Typical Situation Watchtower __________________ Cry Freedom What You Are
Great freaking show!! Saw RM95 there, too. RM95 -- do you plan on getting a CD copy of the concert? burn me one, if you do! Stone, Crush and #41 were fantastic! Good gig at the Woodlands this evening. Carter was on fire and the whole band seemed to have a lot of fun up there. Luckily enough, we missed the Hurricane by a day but she left us with a very muddy lawn. We're looking forward to the day off tomorrow in Dallas before the show on Wednesday. -- The DMB Crew Wednesday, July 16 11:45 PM CDT Everyday The Stone Rhyme & Reason Song That Jane Likes #41 Too Much If I Had It All Grey Street Kit Kat Jam Cry Freedom Crush Stay Where Are You Going So Much To Say Rapunzel __________________ Digging a Ditch Two Step
that concert was a blast! it was my first, but hopefully not my last. they played 41, crush, and song that jane likes..... awesome!!! and SMTS---> PNP---> Rapunzel was a fantastic way to close the set. and then, that two step..... F*CKIN KICKED ASS!!!! the energy those guys had on stage really got the crowd going. all-in-all, i couldn't have asked for a better show (unless they would've played Best of What's Around and Jimi Thing ). gotta give it up to my mom for buying me tickets just a few hours before the show. way to go mom!!!!!
Two Step is my wife's favorite..she was so excited when they started playing that at the very end..she was thinking they wouldn't play it at all. They were amazing on that song...they always are. Hey...what was with the lyrics on Kit Kat Jam??? I've never heard those before...are those new??
we didn't get the passes!!! we got VIP parking, which was great..but no VIP bar area passes. But we walked right by it...looks like a full-service restaurant to me. The food smelled good...it's right by the entrance coming from the VIP parking garage...wished we had passes to get in, but those didn't come through.
There's a Busted Stuff outtake with lyrics on Kazaa, so I assume that's what they were doing. Believe it or not, I like the jam better w/o lyrics, but I digress... Awesome show, great for a first timer like myself. Rapunzel was off the hook (did I just say off the hook?), and like SWT said a great way to end the set. Crush was great as well. I loved it when they kept stopping. Grey Street was great, my favorite DMB groove. But Two Step....hoooly Jesus, Two Step was amazing! Carter blew my mind on the end of that one. That will be the lasting image I have of that show. I wish I knew what all you guys looked like. I mean, I know what Behad looks like but I didn't see anyone there with a torn shirt, a golf trophy, and rolling bug eyes. It would have been cool to meet some of you's guys. EDIT: BTW, the guy next to me was smoking doobs all night long. I washed my hair twice this morning but it still smells like pot. I'm at work.
The wife and I had a blast! Great, great show. Next time I'm springing for reserved seats, however. The hill was so freakin muddy.
i thought about you imadrummer...great first show for a first-timer, no doubt! thanks for the info on Kit Kat Jam...totally with you that it's better as an instrumental. they hit my favorites, other than Ants Marching. you're right about that offbeat stop on Crush...that was great!
You should have been at the show in 2001, first night, but I don't recall the date, wife and I argued but she says May, so May it was. It rained like a SOB and it was not regular rain, it was COLD rain, monsoon type. We were on the hill --- ALWAYS SIT ON THE HILL at DMB--- and the water was rushing down the hill ankle deep. A lot of people left, but we hung in there through the end, without an umbrella (but we did seek shelter in the bush). Great show, great memory; the music was better last night, but the memory of the monsoon on the hill will stick with me for awhile (and my memory sucks). Was anyone else there that night? I'm sure not the only rain story at CWMP, but it was a fun, fun night. It always is with DMB.
