It's been a "Rockets" kind of All-Star Saturday.

First the rookies beat the Sophomores without Eddie Griffin. That completely ruins the argument I was going to make that "the rookies would have won if they had selected Eddie".

Then, the Houston team is routed in the first round of the 3-on-3 tournament. Typically, they lose because of horrible shooting and rebounding. Then, the Philadelphia team that beat Houston and featured a former Rocket loses to a Sacramento team featuring zero NBA stars.

After that, the guy who ripped the Rockets in Wednesday's Cleveland loss, Wesley Person, bricks shot after shot in overtime and loses the shooting contest. Why couldn't he shoot like that against Houston.

Finally, the dunk contest happens! I don't have anything to say about that that hasn't already been said. The wheel was stupid, that first dunk was tragic, and that Mobley pass left something to be desired. Did I mention that the wheel was stupid?

Oh well, despite the losing, I still enjoyed seeing the Rockets participate in All-Star activities. Hopefully Steve will better my prediction of four points and six assists in tomorrow's main event.

Well, I don't think the Rockets took the 3 on 3 tournament very seriously. And frankly, that was about what I expected from all the teams in the competion. The rough play in the finals was not something I had anticipated. I was also surprised by some of the horrible calls in that tournament.

And as for Person, you do realize that the dude had to shoot pretty freaking good to get into that sudden death round, right? Some of the players took a little time to heat up when they started. That looked to be the case in that final round for Person. But overall, I think the 3 point contest was the most exciting competition of the All Star Saturday

Come on now, you didn't really think Wesley was gonna take the shootout??? You should remember from Game 5 '95 that he can't make clutch 3's :D

*as always, IMHO - pls do your own due diligence!*

Exactly. Sarunas and Turkoglu were a little too competitive. I mean ****, they've already got LA beat and Sarunas is firing up threes. Gee I thought we were just passing it around, getting people involved. Then in the finals, they were fouling Malone pretty hard sometimes. You could tell after a while that Mo wanted it too and wanted to take it to them. Yeah and Mo was getting no respect.

Wait until tomorrow when Steve Francis breaks his arm in the all star game, then I will believe this season sucks.

I could not stand to watch the beat down of the Houston Rockets, they did not even try to play hard. Then Francis totally goes "duh, look he missed his first dunk, I'm going to do something hard so I can mess up too" He could have just done something easy to atleast get a 40, then maybe he would had beated sorry dunker Wallace.

I thought that Moses Malone was very impressive in the 3 on 3 tournament. The Rockets got off to a slow start and went through the motions against Philly.

Personally, I think that Sacramento messed up the whole thing...It would have been awesome to see LA vs. Philadelphia.

    Fisher vs. Turk
Leslie vs. the Monarch's player on the floor
Magic vs. Mo(Magic was the only guy who would be big enough to guard Mo, I had to feel sorry for Tina Thompson as she guarded him)
    McKnight vs. N'sync guy.
